In all seriousness, That could be a good prospect... I have seen a few Dogo crosses with pit or AB, and most seemed to perform well..  Wink

Oh yeah I see I understand I could bring up a Rottweiler topic and everyone would just hate on them but I can show lots of people one that will catch in my opinion it's just the dogs personality it might want to catch and might not

I've done minimum research on them but a lot of the stuff I found pretty much said they were moody and tempers, in other words they're mean, to people, dogs ects. But it would be ok if they were mean on hogs right?  Wink That was my own reserch which was not extensive at all.

It's jut like any breed, there are good and bad. I have two Dogos and both are catching and were catching as pups. When my old catch dog (also a Dogo) died in December, my oldest Dogo pup was 9 mo old. Didn't think he was ready for full time woods stuff by himself so I got a pit, then another pit, then another, and finally another. Culled four pits in less than a month because three wouldn't catch at all and one curred out before I finally said screw it and used my 9 mo old dogo pup as my cd. Point is, there are good an bad in every breed. Use what you like. All breeds have different advantages.

No matter what breed you choose, be picky about the breeder/blood line. If they are breeding hunting dogs, your chances are much higher that your going to get a hunting dog.

Just a helpful hint, there are a lot of people breeding Dogos that don't hunt, find a breeder who does.

X2
I have 2 of them wich i have not had no problen with at all. Really good temperament. Definately know how to turn his on and off switch from when i have him in the woods to the house. No agression from them at all. Well for some odd reason he barks at my neighbor angrily in a way that ive never heard him bark. But i think my neighbor gave him a reason. But other than that he was catchin on pigs ears since 3 months. Really good with my kids and everybody. But like any other dog theres good ones and bad ones just depends

Ive gone through several pits trying to find one to use as a back up and have culled several for the same reasons...
The difference is that its ALOT cheaper to cull several pits than it is one Dogo..  Wink

I just looked them up again and am admitting I was wrong and resources were not accurate. Check this out http://www.dogbreedinfo.com/dogo.htm
Thanks for calling me out t.wilbanks, you made me do more research and learn a little more about them.

Don't be scared. If they can catch like the Dam you will be blown away! T.Wilbanks you are SOOOOOO right about being cheaper to cull.  Small fortune invested in Dogos here.  Daingerfield huh?  You need one again.  I'm right around the corner.  You can see the dam in action.  As for the Sire, I just cant muster enough nerve to risk gambling $2,220.00.  Give me a year and I will have sure enough full blood Dogos WORKING.  Not in the show ring.  Come see me!
