What kind is everyone wearing?  I'm not looking to spend a ton but want some that are going to be comfortable.  I'd be open to some gaitors also.   Thanks for the help.

I wear my hip boots from Valley Creek pretty much year round...  Im still waiting for someone to find out if they are sure enough snake proof or not though..   I wouldnt think a snake could bite through them, but im too chicken to test them myself...   Grin

They cost around $120 bucks...

Not cheap, but the best and most comfortable pair I have owned have been Danners.

I got the bayou red head snake chaps. I wear em all year, and they are for sure snake proof. The regular snake chaps by red head are 100 bucks, and I cut a head off a cotton mouth from my buddies boot that thought he could bite through it... He just stepped on the body and pulled it off on the ground and I cut it up... So they work for sure!!! Mine were 140 and they come up higher than the other regular ones from red head that were 100. And they are mainly leather, with some Kevlar. The 100 dollar pair are mainly Kevlar.

And only thing I can say about any snake chaps I've worn is break them in as much as u can before you wear them in the woods or you will regret it... Get them wet and wear them everywhere to work em out. Oh, and don't get zippers... Zippers, mud, and water don't mix very well..  JMO

Yep!! Redhead zip ups from bass pro.  Hit em with some sno seal and they r fairly water tight. I wear mine unzipped when it's hot. I'd vote em best all around hunting boot in the price range. Snakes or not

Owned several different brands...and I wear these like tennis shoes. Very comfortable and won't break the pocket book.

Without a doubt gonna buy a second pair.

lol! Those are the same ones I had mess up on me... Couple hunts they worked fine, but after time and time again going into knee deep mud they crapped out. Maybe I just had a bad pair... But either way, you can't go wrong with Red Head... They have proven themselves to me in person.

I had a pair of Chippewas, but they didn't have enough support around the ankles for all the tore-up fields we run through, so I got a pair of lace up Rocky boots (they aint much to look at) and they are "all right"... don't think I'd buy them again, buuut, they get the job done.
