She is hell on a hog! I thought she was gonna drown a couple of times last weekend. She'd latch onto the snout and wouldn't turn loose... even after the hog was dead! Grin

Its hard for me to imagine a dog that small being hell on a hog.  I heard they make good find dogs.

i wouldn't want a whole pack of them(as in running only jagds), but after seeing twinkle in action this weekend i wouldn't mind having one or two on my team. these little dogs seem to just be completely unaware of their small size, and she was just vicious on the hogs! i still prefer to have a few bigger dogs on the team though...

You gotta see to believe! Shocked

We took James out there to Crosby a while back and she had one bayed up a pretty as could be. We eased in there with the catch dogs and it broke from all the damn noise from the palmettos!

Get four or five of them baying in those palmetto bottoms would be nice... their bark is so high pitched I don't think the hog would hear the catch dog coming!

i had been looking at jagds for awhile...found a pair in oregon for a real steal of a deal...decided to go ahead and get a 1/2plott 1/4mtn cur 1/4 bmc instead off of good hog dog parents....i like the spunk of the jagd.

I've never hunted around one, but I've heard they are fearless.

I would like to have one, if for no other reason that to take when hunting with people I've never been with before.  I can only imagine the look on people's faces around here when I unloaded my "hog dog"....plus I would imagine the feed bill is a little lighter!!

you can talk to James(longshot) at http://texashogdogs.com/ . i think you might want to rethink offering up a dog you plan to hunt as a "pet" to your 5 year old though. he might not understand when his pet doesn't make it home from a hunt one day. that might be a tough thing for a 5 year old to deal with if he thinks of it as his. just thought i would mention that...good luck

I have hunted with Twinkle myself, she is the real deal.  Got some of that blood in my jagd as well.
