And, one picture of the hog has two dogs in the background that look dead or ailing pretty darn bad, and as stated, didnt see NOWHERE posted they were doing anything but sittin in their pens,  and, again, glad they're being tended to .
looks to me like the dogs are just takin a nap after a hard hunt. That's definitely some nasty lookin cutters in that ol boar. Good luck with your dogs man

Good hog and good loOking dogs!! I had a dog get hit dead center in the chest. He was blowing air like you say. They guy I got him from showed me how to fix it with tape and a condom. Cut the condom to about 3in long and tape it over the wound. The condone works as a valve almost. It lets air come out but closes when it sucks in. Helps re compress the cavity and prevent collapse. I'm glad they pulled through! Nice job!

Thanks man! Ya its a weird place to get hit! And i didnt wanna take any chances so i took him in. Just talked to vet and said he is doin great way way betterthan he expected so i am glad with my decision just to take him in.

How long did you wait to hunt yours after it got hit in the chest?

You definately did the right thing taking him in. Glad to hear he made it. Haven't hunted him yet, it's been a week so far. He acts like he's ready. I'll probably wait another week or so. I dont really know.Let me know how long the vet tells you too rest him.

Wait the full 60 days!!!!! The dog will feel good but will be very prone to tear througfh that chest muscle wall when he starts to hammer down.  I know it sounds like a long time but if he tears that and bleeds internaly it will just put him down even longer.  He will work himslef to death if he is half the dog you say/think he is.  It's your job to save him from himself onthis one.

You dont let it heal proper and he gets hit any were near that area you liable to have a done dog .  I know my Little Ann gyp had the same hit right in the same place just as bad are worse drian tube a ton of stiches a ton of antibotics and it stayed bruise to the bone for a long long time .
