I know the best ATV topic has been beat to death on here, but I am looking for opinions from anyone that owns or has owned a Yamaha Grizzly. I've always been a Kawi man myself, but my current ride is well past its prime and is currently not running. And I got a buddy offering me what I feel is a good deal on a 09 Grizzly 700 4x4.
Who has anything good/bad to say about these ATVs?

Keep your tires 27 inch. I love mine. Lots of power. Mine is a 660.

i got a 2012 700, looks just like cantex's, tires and all. iv done broke an axle, broke the trailer hitch, the pwr steering light dont illuminate anymore so i dont know if i got pwr steering anymore. for 12,000 i coulda bought a good 4 legged mule, a trailer to haul the mule and dogs around and can use a mule in more places than an atv and the mule can even swim, where the atv will sink. with a warentee of only 6 moths and the price, you would be better off buying a horse or mule. if you want i will sell you mine.

Had an 2002 and another friend had a 2005. Both are super atv but the grizzlies had a bad problem with overheating to the point it would boil the gas in the tanks.
Dunno if the fixed the problems in the newer models or not but we got rid of ours due to that.
Check out a couple of atv forums to see the common problems they are having.
Honda is expensive but worth the extra change.

My 2007 never over heated, but i mounted my radiator on my front rack and could clean it well. I had mine since it was new and put it through he!!,Just recently sold it to buy a 700 rhino, the grizzly sure made me a believer in yamaha products because i was a die hard honda man before.

2008 700 with powersteering... About 2000 miles on it now with no complaints... The seam on the radiator had a leak right when i got it and warranty replaced it and havent had any issues since... Bought it brand new and wouldnt hesitate to buy another... No issues with overheating, even with pulling a pig wagon full of hogs and dogs...

Had an 2002 and another friend had a 2005. Both are super atv but the grizzlies had a bad problem with overheating to the point it would boil the gas in the tanks. All the early 2000's water cooled Yamaha's had that problem. Had 2 grizzly's and a kodiak that all had that problem. You had to keep the radiator impossibly clean. Yamaha fixed the problem on all of mine by adding adding a heat shield over the muffler and between the tank. I think after 2005 they fixed the problem. My brother had the Yamaha big bear 400 4x4 and it was hands down the best of the Yamaha's. Air cooled and manual trans and it was bullet proof.
