Well here it is a buddy had it brand new never fired llama max 1. Now for people that hate llama I will hold this particular one up to a colt any day. 1000 rounds in a week I had 2 jams and the only other problem was the first bullet in a new mag would make the trigger stiff other than that it's awesome.   |

Nice gun. 1911 are like ARs, there all to a particular spec. Now it depends on the company and maker to make it persice. What Im saying is, for the most part (not all by no means) a 1911 is a 1911 and they are good guns. Congrats now let's get some custom grips on it.  |

Take it to a gun smith and get him to polish all the internals or if you in brownwood ever got a buddy that will do it. That is the only thing wrong with llamas is no polishing of slide trigger etc. He made his shoot durn good

The grips are one of the few things that won't interchange but mostly everything off the colts will. And it was a fraction of the cost a colt or Springfield would have cost. I would like some mor info on the polishing if you could give me any.

You go in and polish the trigger group the slide ramp etc but you need someone that has done it before because you don't want to take too much off. It just makes the metal pieces smoother. This is one way they cut costs.

ive built a couple 1911s and if you want some good replacement parts (IE trigger, spring kits barrels etc.) go with wilson combat

I lapped my slide using 4 different grits of valve grinding compound. Start with the course and wind up with the very fine. I polished the ramp the very same way using a dremel tool.

I know I'm gonna catch hell for this especially being a veteran but buying a Colt is like buying a John Deer or Harley (and I have a Harley), you pay for the name now-a-days. |

My 1911 goes just about everywhere with me, it shoots as true as I could ask for with any handgun and it has plenty of power.

My grandad was tellin me he had an issued colt 1911 said It was the most inaccurate gun out of the box he's ever shot. Until he messed with the sights. He traded up for a 357 ruger blackhawk.

I've got a springfield 1911 and i think its very unaccurate,But its got fixed sights not ajustible and i was use to shooting a smith revolver
and it was deadly so i dont know.

Little history here for yall: Back in the day they figured out the slide to frame fitment was the reason for this. The way they fixed it way back when was by putting it on a hard surface with a piece of wood/metal over the gun and driving a jeep onto them. Now for the new generation i would suggest a vice or di-electric (spelling) grease. The best way to check is to wiggle the slide left and right while holding the grip firm. If its got slop in it tighten it doen in a vice (just becareful to not over tighen) then run a fine file once or twice to clean it up. The other version is to use di-electri grease in the slide rails then put it back together. Instant accuracy upgrade! |

OH yeah and for best results using a vice the slide has to be off the frame.

I have a Springfield 1911 that I have tricked out. It has a Bomar back sight a clards front sight, Lazer Grip sights also, Wilson combat trigger, slide lapped by me and the ramp polished by me. It will group 2" at 25 yards.
Also have a Kimber 1911 with Express Sights that is pretty sweet also.
