I've got a mamma dog I just weaned pups off of n they pulled her down pretty poor, so what would be tge best way to get her back into shape for hunting again? She's seriously poor right now n I give her more food then she can eat in a day.

Have patience, put forth the effort into training, and watch the fruits of your labor stop squealing monsters in their tracks. No greater satisfaction than that.

Worm her real good and add crisco or bread to her food. Lots of different ways to gain weight on em. I like giving them bread

I had one just like that and I doubled her dry food but wet it down. Once it was soupy, I added two eggs and red cell for dogs. It did not take very long at all. I know that the satin balls and crisco work well also, but I went with eggs and red cell on this one because I had it all right in the fridge. A lot of folks feed the shell and all for the calcium, but years ago I had a dog get bloody stools because the little shards of egg shell were scratching his digestive tract. Good luck!

I've been givin mine pettabs from atwoods, eggs, n scraps grease n sometimes meat n occasional bully max. She's been nursin two weeks has a lot of milk fat as a toad n so are pups. Will see if this keeps her from gettin sucked down.

a nursing female loses lots of nutrients when raising pups...she needs to eat at least twice a day...and make sure to start the pups on mushy dog food by at least 3 weeks of age...the more they eat the less they suck down the mama...

Training dogs is not about quantity, it's more about timing, the right situations, and proper guidance...After that it's up to the dog... A hunting dog is born not made...

I feed Canned Jack mackeral and Raw Chicken thighs. It will work with worming. Always let mom eat twice a day and worm them right after a litter and they will not get down.. Eggs are good also. This was my female AB right after weening a litter of 7 this past year with Worming a couple days after they were born and eating the above with her dry feed.

I always mix calf mana in my gyps feed while they have pups and feed them out of a free flow feeder and they do pretty good

Feed them good hunt em hard. The best training can't make up for bad breeding.
