Curt Schilling has been very vocal in support of the Tea Party.  His is for smaller government, lower taxes and against bailouts.

Yet he got the state of Rhode Island to back his debt because it would bring jobs to the state.  Now, on the brink of bankruptcy, he needs the state to bail him out.

This is all too common.  We shouldn't have the government picking winners & losers between companies and backing them.  The marketplace should do that.  It happens everywhere, including here in Texas.  We shouldn't be bailing out companies either.

The real problem is everyone is for smaller government, lower taxes, etc.  ...  as long as they still get access to government dollars.  Politicians do this constantly.  Big business too often too.

When society sees the government as the financial solution too often  ...  it is not a good direction.

when the tax payer finally wake up and relize they are the governments financial solution to more spending. hopefully they will put there foot down and say enough is enough. rl, we can agree on atleast 1 thing and that is, ALL politician are croocks, no matter how low in the political ladder they are, everything from county, to city, to state and finaly up to the federal level. if it is a position that has to have an election held to get the seat, then it is political. if the person running and elected has any kind of morals and integrity, they wont last long or they will turn croocked to keep their set in office. its a sad word we have. it would be nice if was like in the olden days where the politics actually cared about the people

getting closer to the root cause in my opinion has to do how the U.S. conducts business...We are regulating ourselves out of business...We are outsourcing our jobs overseas...Now we bring the chinese to fabricate/build our bridges and chemical plants etc. etc...I agree we shouldn't have to bail out small or big business but how can we compete globally when we are not managing our country the way it should be managed?

Safety is a good thing in any job....but a 3 month job can turn into a 9 month job because of all the rules and regulations and red tape...can't compete globally with that type of system...

we have to fix the foundation before we can build...everything that is working well has a good foundation...

I am not saying to do away with regulation...just need to have the right systems in place...sometimes we need regulation to save us from ourselves...  angel

What is the definition of Capitalism? What is the definition of Communism? Start there. We are not Communist so the government should get out of business dealings. Why are Communist countries failing? Because governments are way to currupt to run a business.

reuben, you are correct. the foundatin of this country has been cracked for many years and the crack is now a canyon. if this government would stop sending 200mill to pakistan to buy their friendship, 1bill to keep us in NATO and 500mil for the UN, anually then we would not hoave to out source our work to countries that dont have labor laws, safety regs and all the osha red tape crap. you are correct again by saying we do need the red tape, but when it gets in the way of a nation foward progress, then the red tape needs to be looked at again and reconfigured to keep up with or slow down with the work environment. osha and dept of labor are 2 gov entities that are a double edge sword. bailing out big business should be a NO NO!!!, helping little business should be limited, overseas out sourcing should be another big NO NO!!!!!! we need to find a way to stay productive, stay in our economic limtis but yet fluid enough to roll with economic roller coasters. we care about those things, but our politicians dont care. we can write letters, call them sit down in a meeting them and talk till we are blue in the face, but till we show them a big stack green backs, what we care about goes in 1 ear and out the other. look at that puppy mill bill, that is now a law. we called, wrote and had meetings, well yaw did. i was in afghanistan, but what came of all those talks? NOTHING!!!!!! these politician dont give a dang about you and I, they care about that fat bank role at the end of their term

well dub, if that is a true reasoning for the fall of those countries, then we have been a communist country for some time. the government care more about big business for their charitable donation to next election/re-election of them crooks, that they over look the workin class. look at your workin class in those communist countries. what came about them, what was/is there living and working conditions, what was/is there slary? piss poor on all accounts. the government care not for the people of the country, they only care for themselves and those who can make them rich and or powerfull....
