Case Trapper X2.  I have seemed to misplace mine and looking for a replacement.  Only a carbon blade this time. (not to thread jack, but how is this new chrome vandium(sp) that they're, Case, claiming to be cabon?)

nice to have a knife with a gut hook as well.  I carry a gerber now (cant think of the model) with a gut hook and it holds a decent edge on a hog.  But i just love that Case Trapper, could skin 2-3 deer before touching it.

Also have a Howa (i think its called), i think its Japan steel but it is heavy heavy and thick back bone for busting bone.  Wasnt big on the Japan thing, but my grandpa gave it to me and he is big into knives and knows his stuff and said it was good steel and would last.

Yes sir it is the chrome vandium when you get the knife stick the blades in a potato or an oranger and it will turn the blade black it takes the shine off and keeps it from rusting

i use a knife i got in germany. i think its a puma blade. works fine and holds an edge even with the course hair on a hog. used an eye brand before too and it works as good as the puma. for gutting i use a ingress/regress strap cutter. makes light work and has a ceramic rod on it for touching up knives.

Thank you!! I love the chrome vanadium blade, I have even sharpened it so fine that I shaved my face once just to see if I could! The only thing I hate is the fact that they rust immediately out of the box! I'll try the orange trick now!

similar to a gut hook on the tips of knives. here is the link to 1 of my strap cutters. the other 1 is about 6" long, no finger hole but has finger notches. and i ment egress, not regress. they are issued to cut seat belt harnasses incase of a rapid egress ( rapid get the hell out) for either crashed acft or roll over for tcks

Awesome knife and hands down best value i've ever seen, i love my case trapper but it just doesn't compare.

That havalon is a cool knife, but I don't like the idea of throwing a dull blade away. Too much of life nowadays is disposable. But that's just my thoughts

X2 I carry an eyebrand and love it, always holds a good edge for me and if it gets dull it is easy to knock an edge back on
