Just got him Saturday. Took him out Saturday morning.  Lead him into an area about 200 yards around solid briars where we seen some hogs run in. The strike dogs were out hunting elsewhere.   He winded this hogs and was jumping above the briars to get to them. Caught and was racked off on a tree with the ear in his mouth.  I think he is going to work.   Leads good and very well mannered.  Disadvantage:  he takes up 3x the room a cur takes up in my rhino bed.

why run him as a lead in catch dog, these dogs will find and catch there own pigs i have had more than my share of them over the years but if you  want a better one x it  they in my experience make excelent foundation dogs and x very well over many other breeds depending what type of dog you prefer to hunt.

I have no doubt he'd make a RCD but most my dogs aren't rough and I'm in Arkansas.  There is no riding anything to where theses hogs bay up.  If I get to them in 45 mins I'm lucky.  The RCDs don't last long if they catch before you get there.
