I just got my June issue and noticed a picture on the inside of page one. The picture is 2 men and 2 kids with a Sow hanging up with 5 Dead babies sticking out of her belly for the picture.  I could not help and wonder WHY the need to pose them for a picture and wanting people all over the country to see it. Let alone have my kids think that is cool. That bothers me the most .. They learn by our examples and that is not a good one.. If you kill a pregnant sow, it happens. Eat her and be done. But this looks bad on all of us. I think as hunters we have a Moral obligation to be respectfull to the enviroment, land, and the animals we hunt..  I am curious what ya'lls opinions were on this and if you seen the picture?

 I have not seen the pic, but I would think that would be what they should be trying NOT to do... And this is in a magazine right? That's just not good for any of us... ammo for the antis.... That's a shame.

It is right above the features on Page one. The only picture on that page. Your comment about the Anti's was the second thing that came to my mind. The SPCA and Peta live for this stuff.. I consider Hog Hunters as some of the best people in the world and i am proud to be a Hog Hunter, that is why it bothered me so much. I just can't get over it and wonder WHY.

Yes sir... doesn't make a lot of sense when California is fighting a losing battle against them right now... Not only does it look bad on all of us, but its just not ok at all on any front.

It is a great magazine for hog hunters. Comes every month and is only like 28 bucks a year. they changed owners after like 20 years. Jimmy and Sharon Young from La ran it out of their house and always did a awesome job. I miss Jimmy's open statements. The new owners have made it color and added some new things. I just hope this is not something they are going to continue.

The first thing i did was send Randy and Terry  a e-mail at Bayed Solid.. Thanks for checking. If you knew me you would know i am not shy with anyone on what i feel is right or wrong and i always try and do the right thing first. Now that you know that what is your opinion ?

when jimmy and sharon sold out the mag went to crap i quit taking it. If i hunted in Alabama it would be great but i live in texas no where down there so i will keep my 21 bucks wish there were a texas mag about hog hunting.

If you think that made a difference then you just gotta see if they took what you said to heart. If they show bad judgement again then I guess I would cancel it and let em know why.

I agree.  Seems to me that now the majority of the magazine is about the owners and their "close" friends.  Nearly every story and picture seem to be of them and their hunting partners.  I wish Jimmy and Sharon had never sold out.  I won't be renewing my subscription again.

BUT, they don't have writers who go out and interview people and write articles about their hunts.
They rely on readers/subscribers/hunters to send in articles and pics.

If you want to see articles on TX hunts, send some in!!!!
I betcha they will get published if they are even half-decently written.

I barely know them.
I am actually way more familiar with Jimmy and Sharon and hunted with Jimmy several times.

I am simply pointing out the obvious.

personaly i like the new bayed solid and like said above they go so far as to ask every subscriber to send in their pictures and stories to be published . you wanna read about texas hunts sit down and write em down and send em in . or go to the mailbox and whine cause some other texas hunter didn't send em a storie you could read . the picture is a small one hell i didn't even notice it till you something was said had to go get my copie and put my glasses on to make it out . looks like the hunter did good work for the farmers lol get em all !!!  they can't reproduce . catch and release gives hog hunters a bad name . main reason we can't hunt alot of places . the govt. is scared and rightly so that the hog hunters will do more stocking than removeing . that's my storie and i'm stickin to it

I have a problem with them Publishing the guys picture with kids in it..  putting a picture in like that gives hog hunters a bad name to the general public and just one more thing to help them try and get rid of us owning guns and hunting in general and hunting with dogs. everything always leads to that in the end. The places i hunt like for us to get the pregnant sows out also like any owner so they don't repopulate. yes that is good work for the owners, Bad taste with the Hunter sending in a picture like that, and a even worse idea for the magazine to go ahead and Publish it and let Thousands of people see it how small it may be...

Last month they ran a story about hunting south Texas. Killed a javi with the dogs . It happens but is illegal in Texas. I let them know. Then in this issue they retell the story pretty much. About done with the mag.

You make a good point and I think we all agree with you. You said you sent them an email. Did you get a response back? Just curious as
to their response.

Not yet, I sent the e-mail yesterday, so maybe they have not checked them yet. I know they all hunt and do alot of other activies in their area. I am very curious to see if they respond and what is said.  If they don't i will just take it that they don't have a problem with it . Life moves on. but with the Javi story and this i will just have to consider not getting the magazine anymore. I hate that because when Jimmy and Sharon owned it i looked forward every month for it to come in the mail so i could read what jimmy had to say and read all the stories and look at the pictures.  I just wanted to see what others from around the country thought about it so i posted it. If i get a responce i will pass it on to share their side.
