I have 4 spots out of a total of 16 open on my lease. This land has very dense vegatation for this part of the country.A lot of Live Oaks, Cedars, and Mesquite trees. Not the wide open country like most of the land in this area.
I have been hunting this lease for 15 years. We do feed protein and it it each individual hunters responsibility to feed protein in there area from February thru July. This is a 45,000 acre ranch and our pasture is 4,500 acres. We have year around use and access and do not have to report to the rancher when we are going there. It is a working ranch with cattle, but not so many as to be a nuisance very often. We are family friendly and encourage bringing children.Guests are also welcome. All game harvested comes off your quota.
1 trophy buck 4.5 or older,1 cull,3 does. There is a cabin with full amenities that can be used for lodging during the off season if you decide to take your RV home during the off season, but it is not to be used for lodging during active seasons as we all use it for cooking, socializing, and some of us liike to use the full size shower rather than the compact ones in our RV.If you are looking for 150 plus class deer on a regular basis this is not the place for you.120-130 are common with a few getting into the 140s.Lots of turkeys and a few javelina,no hogs or exotics. This is a bow and gun lease. We also have a very nice deer cleaning station and a game cooler. We do like to enjoy some adult beverages, but not in excess.
The lease is located @ 45 min. SW of Mertzon.
