Soldier Hunt!!

This weekend we had a chance to take a soldier hunting. Spencer is Big E's cousin and in on leave from Afghanistan. So Eric had a fun filled weekend for them.  Saturday night was spent on the trinity river learning to wake board.. Sunday we were up early and gathered at E's big deer lease in trinity. This was Spencer's first hunt so we were wanting to get him in on the action and you'll see in the video he did well.



Not hunting much lately so we took pretty much everything. Kept all the young deer running pups in the buggies and dropped blaster, boogie, Briar, Mikey, ruby and Goose. they went up half a mile, flew into a plantation couple hundred yards and caught boar hog about 130#'s. 



dogs split everywhere hunting. Blaster, Mikey and ruby rolled way on and started another. Briar went a mile to the west making a pass and Boogie carried all the pups to the south a half mile and headed back in. Blaster and them were still running way to the north so we worked around to them and came on a feeder with good sign. Boogie and Lexi hit the trail he went in on and opened up not 20 yards in cold trailing him, they tore out and had him in his bed 300 yards later. He broke as I got there and I could tell he was a solid boar hog. Boogie and the pups tore out after him. Meanwhile Briar, Goose and Drake had peeled off to the north of the feeder and started their own. About an hour later and 2-3 miles of switch cane the black crows and boogie had stopped the big hog in a blow down tree stump. They had ran the hog into Blaster and Mikey so now they were in on it. It's something to hear 7-8 cur dogs hammering!!!! Turned Redman and Obama loose at 30 yards.. Got in there and got some video of the catch. Pardon the first 30 seconds getting into them. Spencer comes in and grabs the back legs to help flip him. One of the fattest boar hogs I've seen. Hard to judge weight but he was 240 ish. 












Finally decided to call the other dogs off the track. Briar wouldn't quit and I finally cut him off around 10:30







Big E took him out fishing after that and put a boatload of whites in the cooler

Briar sounds like my kinda dog. You wanna test a dogs bottom, put em out in this summertime heat and if he will run one that long and it that hot, well wintertime ain't gonna be nothing but playtime for him.

Yessir an he's not even in running shape. Only his last hunt in the last 2 months. I'm glad I caught him though bc he was getting wobbly legged lol

Lol That's a bet!! We got a big boar hog that's hitting a protein feeder, I'll tell Marshall to video this one.. I caught and tied that running a$$ Barr hog that weighed 295 earlier in the season by my lonesome

Hell Ive caught so many over the last few years hunting with all my friends and just me and big e going that I'd rather video now and let someone else get in on the action. Just like you my friends like to talk $h!t about always papparrazzi'ing it... But they sure love those videos and pictures at the end of the hunt! Best of Borge worlds would be to find someone to video that can keep up and do a good job. You keep filming Florida hunts and we'll start filming the Texas hunts and combine them. Ought to be some trophy hogs on that DVD lol
