Do the three day treatment if they have an infestation, do the once monthly to keep them clean

how much, 3 days in a row? 1 click? I used 2 days in a row on mine and my gsp still passes a few worms every few poops. Worm is still alive. they are small about double the size of a grain of rice.

Sounds like tapes to me. I tried safegaurd and panacure on 3 day intervals( over a month period) didn't work on the tapes for me. I bought the worm x from tsc and one pill took care of em.

X2, vet told me that safeguard won't help with tapes. Also, what kind are you giving? Cattle, horse, or goat, they are different strengths, but all are way less than what a dog need. For example, to worm a 60lb dog you need to use enough to worm 600lbs of the cattle wormer roughly, more on the horse wormer, and also different on the goat wormer. If you have the big tube that takes a gun, I give three clicks per dog per day for three days. Anthony

I was using horse, and went one notch per dog. I wasnt sure of the over dosing so I did a little math and it came out to 1 notch = about 50-60lbs. Guess I was doing it wrong but I went with the math work to keep overdosing down because I have heard stories about dogs dying or going blind due to overdosing. I might just go back to the simple pill form. I was doing intestinal pills once a month and tape pills every other month and never had a problem.

A 60lb dog needs 6 grams a day for three days. You can figure out the dosage by dividing out what gram tube you have. Don't worry about over dosing them too much, it's really hard to do with the safeguard. The only thing you will hurt is your wallet by wasting it. If you are using the horse, it should tell you how many grams are in the entire tube, just divide that by six, and that will give you the number of doses you have. Hope this helps. Anthony

PROBLEM WITH THE HORSE TUBE IS YOU ARE ASSUMING THE ACTIVE INGREDIANTS ARE EVENLY DISTRIBUTED IN THE TUBE AN THATS NOT NECESSARILY TRUE

Not sure, been a while since I've used that one. But you just have to see what the grams are and devise it by the what the dog needs. Anthony

I've been using safe guard on my dogs for years, if there infested put good bead for each dog on tip of finger for 3 days in a row. After that do one bead for each dog 1 time a month. Be careful with pups use small bead, alittle over will make em weak for a couple days, but they'll come through. Stuff works great.

The dosage for Safe Guard liquid goat wormer is 1 cc for every 5 lbs. of body weight. I did all the math for the paste vs. liquid and it all cost about the same if you are using the correct dosage. Using the liquid goat wormer takes all the guess work out. You have to use the dosage I gave and NOT whats on the bottle. Give 3 days straight , every other month or two.
