As a habit, I typically turn loose of very few pups from my litters.  A good while back I had a guy from north Texas contact me who had gotten my info and was looking for some longer ranged dogs.  As it ended up, I had a litter on the ground at that time and ended up making a deal with him and letting him have his pick after talking with him a couple times.

Heard back this week that the male dog was doing fantastic and was pretty much exactly what he was looking for.  From his description, the dog hunts exactly like I intended with the breeding.  Always nice to see pups go to other kennels..be raised and hunted by different means, and continue to make nice dogs.  That's when you know you're hopefully on the right track with the genetic end of the deal.

He sent me some pics, and I must say the dog made a fine looking male.

If anyone's interested, he also has a litter of pups on the ground out of this male and a walker female.  I don't know the dam, but I wouldn't hesitate to take his word that she is what he says.

Here's the male dog.

Mother on the right, and one of the littermates I kept on the left.
