Not trying to open a can of worms, looking for a good stock of rangy blackmouths I live in Ga.  Just want to start with some good stock.  Would like dogs that can be casted or put on tracks.  Have never had blackmouth dogs before, and i can see from the post on here there are many different styles of dogs.  Thanks in advance for any help or suggestions.

Man you asked the Willie Wonka golden ticket question.  laugh

There are so many different aspects to be taken under consideration to give you a direct answer.
There are all the main publicized lines. Most being cow or tree lines, but with that usually comes the price tag.
There are the personal unpublished lines, but you typically have to stumble up on them by happenstance or know someone personally.

There are usually areas that hold higher concentrations of dogs that have been worked for a living for several generations,  Texas, Ok, Louisiana being a few. Dont know very much about any lines on the East Coast. So I figure you will have to travel wherever you go. But local newspapers, traders or local online services are good tools to increase your chances of running into some. But as always you need to have a good firm idea of what you want and ask a hella lot of questions.

Example is check out southeasttexas.classified and type in hog dog. Couple months ago there was a litter of ybmc that claimed to be heavy East Texas thicket blooded pups out of working stock. All the pups were colored uniformly and looked extremely sharp.....but the phone call to ask the questions will allow you to get the info on them you need. Also they were priced very reasonable.

Nearly called bout them myself to ask a few questions..but I am dog poor enough as is.  Haha

I know I didn't give you a direct answer but hopefully a few tools to assist you.

Glad your goin Yeller anyway you decide.

Oh you don't want a yeller... get you a cat! LOL! or a blue tick!  LMAO! or even a pack of dogos!!! Evil

I'm just playing... You came to the right site to look for help with dogs, thats for sure! There are all kinds on here, and good people too boot! If you don't mind me asking, why are you wanting yellers specifically though?

Good luck with your ventures and good hunting to ya!  Grin

First of all thanks for responding to my post, i have posted on several other forums and just been ignored or got smart remarks.  its nice to know there are still a few around that will help some one they don't know. I live in middle Ga, have only been in hog hunting for about 2 yrs.  Have been with several people and all had diffrent styles of dogs .  I have 5 dogs know, 2 curs and 2 bird bull x hound and 1 cambell cur,a couple of bulldogs.  Also have a coon dog.   the curs are ruff ruff and hunt close a friend has them on trial now.  bird bull x hound are only 6 months, cambell cur  a YEAR OLD. Looked for cat for awhile talked with fellow on  here that is supper nice just doesn't have any to sell .  I am sure there are some supper ones out there just have not found any for sale.  A good friend of mine raised them for years but has been out for around 10 years. He had Sam Mason and chester Wager bred dogs.  There are a couple of men that have some good yellow dogs close by, but they dont sell, they cull or give them to each other.   I have always liked yellow dogs and there personality just never had one because there are not many around here or cats either.  Most dogs here are running catch dogs or hounds or hound crosses.  Just want to try something new i quess,  just want a dog that will hunt and stay with it , once they find it.  ihanks again

I own a bunch of linebred yellow dogs that are all off of Okeefenokee Cowboy. I strongly recommend that u look into the blood and talk to Colt Anderson if you want some fine yellow dogs. I have a double bred 5 year old stud dog named Newt that is a one man show. He is extremely long range and has just the right amount of grit. When I turn him out he will flat out leave until he is bayed. Your more than welcome to call me if you have any questions. 772-216-0318
