Thats a question that has many answers.

The best breed is the one you like and the one that satisfies your and your hunting style noboby else's everybody is different so that is why there could be so many answers .  Lots of times it is the first breed of dog a man starts out hunting with that becomes his favorite.

Any breed of cur of hound or cur hound cross seems to be what most use. Me and my husband use good ol east texas curs.  Smiley

you will need to hunt with different people in your area to see what breed will satisfy you. just about any breed will run a hog its just what you will like to hunt with whether it be cold/hot nose, silent/open , rough/ loose.

Couldn't have said it better myself.
