need a little more information so we can help you...How old is the pup/dog???  does it come from hunting stock???

but these are the bottom lines...can't train a dog to hunt...the dog is born with or without the hunt...all you can do is expose the dog to hogs and a few mock hunts and then let him hunt with a few good dogs...always hunt with the dog and don't get the dog start a habit of just hunting for you instead of hunting for hogs...In other words...when the dog takes a track, wait on him to strike or come back before moving on...if the dog can't straighten out a track get off the four wheeler and see if you can help him...all these little things helps the dog become a better hog dog...

Your post is confusing. You say you have good stock and hunt a lot. So what is the problem are the dogs hunting or just following you around?

Like Reuben pointed out.

You expose the dog to the game to be hunted then it is up to the dog to get out there and find that game. You can't force it to take a track it has to want to do it and enjoy it.

If you are just never finding hogs maybe there are none in the area you hunt. Try releasing a pig out of sight and walk your dogs towards the area and see how they react. if they don't attempt to trail and catch the pig your dogs don't hunt/don't know what a hog is.

Not to be rude but a "strike dog" ain't a "strike dog" until it is consistantly finding hogs in the woods.

I would show em a hog in a pen a few times then bring em to the woods and cut em loose, bottom line.....either they are gonna have the drive and hunt in em or they ain't. Like stated above, is there a possibility that there are no hogs in the area. If i were in your situation i would find a cpl waterholes....ponds, creeks or even ditches holdin water, buy you a cpl bags of corn and dump em around the water.....this will improve your odds of concentrating hogs which in turn will improve your chances of your dogs hitting good sign and catching you hogs......im not sayin to do this forever but it will help the odds of your pups hitting hogs, theres not a dang thing wrong with doin what you can to help your dogs succeed. Hope this helps.
