So we went out to my pops friends tree ranch in okeechobee today and got our butts smoked by a hog. I was sitting on the dog box waitin for the dogs to sound to let the catch dog out while my pops and his friends were walking around with the dogs. They were gone about ten mins & I heard some grauntin & figured my pops was messing with me. But ill be damned I turned around and about ten seconds later a damn hog ran about 10 yards in front of the truck. Bout 15 seconds later the dogs run by. Anybody else been smoked by a hog lately?

Oh yeah, several times two hunts ago. I don't know if it was the heat or if our dogs were on strike but we got burned bad a couple of times in one hunt!  Sad

Our dogs lit up 12 times the other night and ran 17-18 miles - didn't catch one.
Were we hunt, all there are is runners, so much pressure between dogs and people out there - they don't stop, it gets frustrating thats for sure. freakin smart

released my male just before one of the bays broke,  damn dogo ran that hog almost 1.5 miles, and lost it in the swamp. I was alone half that night walking after that darn dog, saw 3 hogs while i was going to him. He was as frustrated as I was

We had one of our female dogos on the ground, & she's a pretty fast dog and has pretty good stamina I was surprised when she stopped chasing it.

The scent conditions havent ben that good for about a week or two with it bieng so dry and hot here. Im still catching my fare share but geting out run every now and then its part of the game. If some body says they dont get smoked i call Bs on them.
