Had a couple friends bring their dogs to make a hunt at one of my places, always interesting to hunt with new people and new dogs...  Jamie was runnin' some hound cross dogs and they were open as hell lol... about five minutes into the race, the ranch owner told me(in no uncertain terms)  "catch them dogs up and don't bring them back again"...  Shocked Grin  ... these old buggers around here do not like an open dog to put it mildly hahaha...  I felt bad, but I had warned my guests about this possibility lol...  it is what it is...

... Jamie's dogs went on to bay that first hog up, then 2 others... they did real good, nice dogs they are for bigger properties... Ended up catching 5 hogs by the end of the day, was a pleasure hunting with Jamie, Hunter, and Gage... just plain good people

Gage and one of Jamie's dogs with a sown she bayed solo, caught with slow ass Bucho  Grin

Shine and Whaler split, we went to Shine and Whaler ended up bayed up, finally made it to him in a growed up flat that had burned a year ago... was fun to have a bay in the "open" where we could see what was what!  Most of my dogs will catch anything they think they can handle, but if I don't get to them quick they will turn aloos and bay till I get there.

... got a hunt lined up with some old men next wknd that I wish I had a video crew to document.

That last litter of pups that Whaler is out of was bred specifically to loose the "camacazi" chit that is in Shiner's side...  The "Willie" dog that sired these dogs had a real strong sense of self preservation but was still SUPER gritty... he through his traits STRONG in these pups, they do not seem to get hurt much, Whaler has yet to even get a scratch on him lol... but if I turn him into a bayed hog fairly close he's gonna catch most hogs under 150... Honestly, he came out EXACTLY like I had hoped for in the crossing.  For the first time in my hog hunting carreer, I can actually relax and walk to a bay, or even leave it and come back, without coming back to a trainwreck lol... quite enjoyable it is  Grin

Yes, that is the same Jamie Casey, he's a hell of a nice guy and easy to hunt with.... even if his dogs are a little mouthy haha Grin

warrent, the old timers I hunt with have, for a long time, told me stories of some men that they grew up around...  these were straight up OUTLAWS back in the day, rough, rough dudes.  I have asked to have these men come hunt with me before, but it always makes the ranchers visibly nervous lol... at 70+yrs old, these old lawbreakers still scare people hahaha  Shocked Grin  I have heard stories of their exploits, some I cannot repeat, some I can... the fact is, however, these were/are true Florida Cracker woodsmen that know more about "real" things than the law allows... literally Wink   ... well, somehow, I finally talked them into all getting together with me this wknd so I can hear the stories from their own mouth.  I can not wait.  There will be priceless history revealed I have a feeling, hope I can remember it all.   Mack already warned me years ago, "if you guys had met years ago, you would have hated each other" hahaha... Grin  This should be fun.

I'm game judd!!  How them twins come out?

That is exactly the kind of dogs I like these days..
I would hate to have to add up the money I've spent keeping rougher dogs put together over the years..
