Didnt catch anything worth bragging about but my pup did well for his first time to see a hog. I have been hoping to catch a small one to tie and mess with him but havent had any luck getting a small one it seems.
Dropped out Sally,Whirly(dog I am trying out) and pop knot. Sally and Whirly go one way and Pop another. Sally takes a track towards a creek and whirly comes bayed. Pop and Sally go to her. The curs have it hemmed up pretty good. We get 150 yards or so and un load the bulldogs. When we get 50 yards Charlie,my pup, runs into the bay and starts working the hog. I was impressed. First time to see a hog. All the curs catch the small boar. After we get him killed I let Charlie lick on it for a few min.
We collect dogs and load them up for a ride to another spot to drop them. I cut pop,sally and whirly off. Sally and Whirly go 100 yards and Whirly barks. Hog breaks and they stop him 250 yards away. Pop Knot heads to them. I cut Charlie off and he hits the ground with his nose and heads right to them and joins in the bay. Not bad for a dog who hasnt seen a hog before today. I let them bay for five min before I head to them. I heard them catch before I left so I didnt bring a bulldog. When I got down there the boar was afraid to stand up, Whirly would nip him each time he stood. I tried to leg him but he would throw the curs off when I got close. I went half way back tot he wheelers and yelled for my Wife to let Debo go. He went to the bay and I got the boar killed.

I have messed with him very little. I dont worry about handle till after I know that they will work out. He isnt much on riding on wheelers or having a lead snaped on him. Just about any dog will bark at a hog, the second time I dropped him is what impressed me. Right to the bay, not just using his ears but with his nose down taking the exact track the others took. I figure he was trailing the two other dogs vs the hog. I plan to drop him to a few more bays then let him hunt with the dogs.
