I have always been a catahoula guy and will remain that way, however, I have an oppurtunity to breed to a Ben bred bmc thats a dang nice dog. I'm crossing my fingers that the cross will produce some nice pups and not make me regret breeding to a yella dog Grin I've heard that crossing the two is a good cross. Can anybody back that up? Ive had dogs my whole life so I know all the factors and variables and blah blah blah. I just want to see some and maybe hear from those who have done it and have pork producers as a result.

Lol well played sir

I personally prefer yella dogs (just because lol) but i have seen first hand a cpl bad sob catahoulas, djhogdogger has a catahoula that is a flat out monster, freak of nature type dog, i've never seen a catahoula anywhere near his build, he reminds me of the pictures ive seen on here of "florida currs", big tall leggy and rough as a cob, show me a litter of catahoulas built like him and i'd buy the whole litter!

Seen a few decent ones with that cross. I'd say depending on your gyp's style of hunting coupled with the males will tell the truth. I havnt seen too many cats I'd breed too, and only a handful more yellow dogs Smiley

My lead dog is a catbmc cross. If is one of the best i've hunted behind. Has found a pig every time I have taken him out. And here lately he will catch when he sees me he is big about 70 pound and can Damn sure run one down even at 9 years old. Damn good cross in my opinion

Didn't mean nothing by the comment other than in my last 6 years of hog hunting and over probably 1200-1500 hogs I've seen 2 catapoulas I would breed to and about 6-8 yellow dogs. You may have 2 that are worthy, just saying through the standards we upheld on hog dogs don't see to many of either breed step up to the plate and deliver

LOL trust me we can come to Oklahoma and put on a show just like in Texas.

Good luck with your cross, I've seen 3 really good BMc/cats before so you might get lucky and get some more good ones
