Ok, I just erased a long, detailed story of what happeded to us last night. It was toooo long so Im going trim it up and get to the point.

We got on two different big nasty boars last night and they put of out of hog hunting for a while. At least untill ALL of our dogs recover. Because All of our dogs recieved some damage.  Sad  And we didn't even get the hogs.  Angry

To top things off, we lost conection with Reds tracking collar and we looked for him until 6am. NO RED!  Shocked  Sad

James put his shirt on the ground where we dropped Red, hoping that he would back track and find it. We came home and got four hours of sleep and then went back to look for Red again.

First we went back to the spot where we lost signal. The garmin picked the collar up! Out in the middle of a milo field where we had lost signal.  Sad  It wasnt moving, just in the same spot. I have to tell you, that was a long, sad walk out to where the signal was.

Well low and behold! It was just the tracking collar laying there with no dog attached!  Grin  A hog had cut right through the collar and it fell to the ground.

So we decided to go and see if Red was where James had laid his shirt on the ground. We get there only to find fresh truck tire tracks and no shirt!  Shocked   Really! Who would take an old raggedy denim work shirt that was dirty and holey!  Now Im thinking foul play.  Sad

We didn't give up hope. We drove the every trail we could think of hollaring and calling for Red..... But no sign of Red.  Sad

The clouds were building up and it was fixing to storm. We were very sleepy and had looked everywhere we could think to look. We decided to leave and come back and look tomorrow.  Cry

On the way back to the truck, James told me that we should split up and go two separate ways and continue looking on the way back.
I headed for the big barn thinking that  maybe Red was taking shelter from the weather and James took a route just south of there.  By this time Im hoarse and tired and crying. I love that dog and I was having a melt down.

I head for the truck and look up and James is driving really fast towards me waving his arms. HE FOUND RED! ALIVE! cut up but ALIVE!

I plan on going back and getting those BOARS!  Angry

Sounds like a crazy night. Had that happen about  8 years ago but lost one found the other layed up next to a gate the next day. Thing that really pissed me off was someone had called me that found my dog on the highway cut up bad and called the police who called animal control insted of me, they called to check on her because it was a weekend and they were curious.  Probly a tree hugger . when i called on that Monday (animal control) when they opened i was told my dog died and when i asked if i could come get her and burry her they said they took her to the landfill and did not know where my cut collar was. Animal lovers my a$$, Mad i hunt with dogs so just dump the dog in a landfil with no phone call, BS. I cussed him out and asked why someone else could call me with the number on my collar and he could not. I still hold a grudge with that SOB.. I won't forget that ever. In Florida all the county animal shelters are on the landfill property for that county. Hmmmmmmmmm, Wonder why. Sorry i got to thinking when i went to reply.   Glad you got Red back and he is alive and will hunt another day..

Thanks everyone. Sorry it took so long for me to reply. When I made this post, I hadn't been to bed for my eight hours. I just now woke up.

After looking back at everything that happened, Im just glad that Ol' Red is safe and sound. If something were to happen to one of our dogs while hunting, I would be very sad but I would know that they went out doing what they love to do. And didn't spend their lives rotting in a back yard or on a couch somewhere.

But when one of them disapears, I cant handle that. I have to know if they are ok.

Magnuml, that is a bad deal for sure. I hate it when people think that they have the right to do things with your dogs and not even let you know when you know dang good and well they had your number. Thats just not right. There are a lot of those idiots out there.

... and as for the boars that we encountered ....  Evil  oh they will get theirs!  Cool

Hahaha, we have no clue. I guess someone who needed it worse that us got it. We are thinking that maybe one of the farm hands got it.....
Or it was bigfoot, or alliens, or chupacabra, or ......   Cheesy  Ive never seen an old shirt vanish before.
