Izz, I agree with you. I think dogos are worth every penny. But I also understand that its a lot of money for a dog that could possibly not work out.

Or Meet its maker one night. If you could get a pup off of it then you'd be ok but of it was on the "a" team and the only catch dog that d be a lot of money
In the drain. IMO I fine and could cost a max of $300 and 99% abd catch

I own them, they hunt hard - more bottom then some curs we've hunted with - but to me, they aren't worth that kind of money - no hunting dog is.
Even after the baer test, shots and food.

Proven dogs and great producers - yes

That's Mr.Lucho - he IS all about puttin teeth on a hog.

Showed him his first hog at 3 1/2 months and he swallowed it up, he is the most intense dog in the woods I've had yet.

Only thing I don't like is, sometimes they will tear a hog apart when they catch it and somehow, mine turned into a lot longer range dogs then I expected - when they pass the 900 yard mark, I find myself power walkin out there hahaha, and they WILL keep going on a hot trail.
Other then that - there's food allergies and some other things that seem to effect different lines, and the chance of deafness.

I haven't had any dog aggression, food aggression, their size is a bad thing sometimes in thick brush and some are loud as hell in the woods. Some are down right crazy on a hog right away, some take a little longer - and some, won't even look at one.

I've had limited experience with them but here are my good vs. Bads

Good:
Smart
Fast
Strong
Better lung than a pit
Hard hitting

Bad:

Too dang expensive a dog to buy as a pup that may or may not turn out.(for me anyway)

Some are dog agressive

They are twice the size of an average pitt, hard to carry on a 4wheeler

Skin/hearing problems associated with some lines

Some, NOT all have the tendency to fight a hog more so than catch it.

Sometimes, you'll find a person who doesn't want to make crazy money off their dogo's - and will give a person one for a lot cheaper then normal because they want their dogs hunted and not in pet homes.

There's some good dogos out there in pet homes that people can't handle and the dog just needs a job - I've met a few people who got dogs like that for free, and the dogs turn out excellent once they get worked the way they needed to.

One more thing - some are WAY to vocal for me.

Things I like

Stamina
Speed
Strong
Good with people
Very loyal
Protective
Smart
When they have a hog caught they aren't gonna let go until You tell them too.

Things I don't like
Some can be dog aggressive " you have to really socialize them when their pups"
Wish they could track better.
If you buy from crappy lines you can run into skin problems
Very dominate not a dog for everyone.

My Nogos sure have Anchored many hogs!
And I didn't have to take out a loan.
I guess I am one of the very lucky unicorn owners Smiley
Enjoy

It's just a teasing name for a dogo.
