Hey guys,
Someone suggested that I join this website and try to meet some people on here.  I just accepted a position in San Antonio and will be moving there in mid June.  I am looking to meet some people that hog hunt.  I do not have any dogs, I am coming from Indiana.  I have done a lot of coon hunting and some hog hunting in Florida.  I am looking to meet some people that might be able to show me the ropes and teach me about hog hunting.  I have never hunted in Texas before,  and I realize that it is quite different than Indiana.  We don't have to worry about snakes and you do.  That is something new that I need to learn about.  Any way, if anybody is willing to help me out, I would greatly appreciate it.  I will always be willing to drive or pay for fuel.  I drive a crew cab diesel truck, so there is plenty of room and I will probably be bringing my dog box down.  Thanks for any help.  I look forward to reading here on this forum and meeting some new people.

I hear that I have something to look forward to during the summertime.  I was quoted a ridiculous number of days in a row over 100 degrees last year.  Do you ever get use to it?

you get used to the average temps after a while.  but you'll get some days that'll just about knock you on your butt if ya try and doing anything outside.  kinda like some of those winter days you get up there.  i've spent a little time in Indiana.  it's nice place, bunch of turkey and some dang fine bucks.

Just use common sense with the heat and you'll be fine. Those 10 gallon cowboy hats and Sombreros ain't to look cool in, they're to keep cool. Drink LOTS of water and you'll be fine and Welcome to Texas

Thanks guys.  I have spent some summers in Florida.  Not sure if it is comparable but I think I might have an idea of what I will be experiencing.  Is Lone Star the drink of choice?  Do people do much hog hunting in the summer?

Do many guys run dogs on bobcats?  That is something else I am interested in trying out.  If anyone is from the San Antonio area and knows a good realtor let me know.  I am looking for a place to buy down there and need some help.

Mex,

What kind of hunting do you do?  And where is Bmt?  I am very unfamiliar with Texas.  I will always be willing to bring the beverages and whatever else is thats needed.

Jordan,

I will give you a call tomorrow.  Thanks.
