I'm fed up with Time Warner Cable and it seems my only other option is Direct TV. Anybody have any options on them good or bad. I'd like to hear your thoughts before I sign up. Thanks!

Yeah I've got an option for you.... You'll have to wait for it to come to Texas but I can promise you every other provider is feeling the heat right about now.

Google Fiber. Free internet with $300 one time construction fee charge. $25 monthly over 12 months. After that its completely free and better then any of the others. Hope this helps.

The internet plan is free. With TV plan you're still going to make it out ahead of everyone else.... Not to mention your tv remote is a android tablet.

One more post, lol. It's only available in Kansas City, MO & Kansas City, KS they're just testing the waters at the moment. You'll have to pre-register to get them to come to your area. Oh and that tablet for your remote is completely free Nexus 7. Also you get two terabytes of storage.

From what ive seen. The prices are cheaper than what I'm paying now. My biggest concern is dealing with the dish. Heard picture goes out a lot in bad weather

I haven't had cable in 8 years you would be amazed at the stuff I get done while others are sitting watching tv lol. Oh yeah let's just say 50 bucks times 12 times 8. Dang that is a lot of money saved.  That is for the basic plan what about my boss who pays like 120 a month.

If you go with Direct, be sure to be there when they install it. Wife was off when mine was installed. Got home and they were in a hurry to leave. Once I walked in the house I knew why. About 30 foot of cable coiled up in my living room, computor wouldn't work and if you touch the cable in any way the receiver went dead. Call the installation guys right away. For the longest they would not answer their phone. When they did, they made excuses. Called Direct raising 9 kinds, two weeks later and after them not showing twice, I got it running. Had to do away with the high speed internet option. I'm totally displeased and can't wait to change back to Dish.

We swapped from dish to directv because I am addicted to a western show on AMC called Hell On Wheels which is a great western show.

I have DirectTV at my house, had it before I moved to Texas,  I like it much better.  Besides Dish runs a credit check, Direct does not.

I've had directTV for about 10 years now. 100 bucks a month for just about all the channels except ppv. Does go out in storms but I think anything that relies on a line of sight with a satellite will.
