I had a nice little training hunt this afternoon. I took my finished strike dog "Jesse", prove bay dog "Connie", a started catahoula "AJ", a started Catahoula/Plott female"Kat", and my old nut dog "Willie".

I kicked out Jessie, Connie, and Willie, and they went to hunting. A mile into the pasture they winded and took off 15 min later I heard a bay and kicked AJ and Kat. I heard some squealling and knew that Willie and Connie had a small pig in a bind. The young Dogs got to the Bay and worked well. AJ and Kat have been in the cow working string all fall and I am starting them on hogs this winter. We caught a nice little Sow and got to the house before dark.

Dadgummit, I had to miss AJ's first pig hunt.  That really ticks me off.  I bet he blows you away on hogs too.  I've loved that dog ever since the first time I saw him.... when he bailed off your flatbed and never broke stride 'til he was neck deep in the horse tank.  That dog cracks me up.

I guess the wedding cake hasn't set Willie back too far.  He still looks like he's on his game.  Mean old turd.

Dan, Ann & Nelson are fat as ticks.  They're gonna get a good workout this weekend though.  We're going hunting Saturday & Sunday both.

Paul, any luck finding Little Bulldog yet?  It would really suck to lose him.  Hopefully he's turned up already.

Little-Bulldog....Is back home Grin He troted up to the house this afternoon. He had a cut on his hip and a full stomach, so I guess he won a battle and got to eat the loser. Glad he is home.
