My bmc gyp delivered her first pup around 1 am this morning, as of now 5:35 am she has yet to deliver another.....I still think there are more on the way but so far there there have been no more pups born, I have no idea if there are anymore pups or not but it sure seems like there are.

My question is for those of you with experience regarding a gyp in labor.......what kind of time frame have you seen from the first to last pup born and at what point would you think a trip to the vet would be needed?

She and the pup are both doing fine and I just brought her out to do her thing, she immediately wanted to go back to her bed with the pup.

If she goes long periods between pups without laboring or straining and looks calm, I think she's alright. It is not uncommon for long periods
between pups. Now if she is straining and laboring and looking uneasy, I would give vet a call and tell them what's going on.

Man, nothing going smooth for you this week.

If she's just taking it easy, cleaning the pup etc , then she's prolly good. Did the afterbirth come out with the first one? Try getting her up and walking her around or if she won't do that then just rub on her belly. Contests on the pups too.

Yes the afterbirth came out followin the first pup, does this mean she is done??? I've had her up and she's been outside to potty once. She sure looks like she's got a couple more in there.......

Don't stress over it. Dogs don't need our help with that activity. Odds are stacke real high that unless she's a toy breed shell be just fine.

Hopefully she will have more, but my buddy RileyG's gyp had one pup a few weeks ago and that was it. I had never seen or heard that before. She had two really good litters before so it was weird. Hope she pops some more out Justin.

No u should get a placenta with each pup. You should be able to feel in her abdomen if there are other pups in there. Other than that as long as she's not in distress panting, pushing, pacing etc then it good. Make sure she is taking care of the one she has and nature will do the rest. Congratulations. Btw I delivered a 7 litter of jagds Tuesday am. Took her 5 hours.

I've had numerous litters out of my bird dogs in the past but none have ever taken over 5-6 hours, this is new to me lol.

She is still sittin on #1, isn't actin like she is gonna have anymore.......she has been inside in the ac since last night, as comfortable as I can get her. I've been in the same room most of the time but i've been leavin her alone. The pup she has is doin great as of now, fat happy and yappin at every noise the hears.
