I thought I had my fleas in check but I didn't spray this area or apply medicine to this bitch in the past month due to not knowing what would or wouldn't effect the outcome. Well.. now I have some fleas. I don't think they are too bad but they will surely get worse. I can find several fleas on each pup. Is this a problem? Should I do anything about it now? If so, then what?

Thanks for any input

You can bathe them in joy dish soap with warm water.....It will not prevent the fleas from getting on them but will kill the ones there.......

permethrein 10% just mix accordimg to label 1 oz to a gal water wet a rag and wipe the pups down then use the rest on the bitch . and wipe the floor down where the pups lay . fleas bring tape worms with them and the pups don't need that . this is safe i just did my bulldog pups . they was born on the 28th . it is safe and affective .

I think the pups are too young to use anything but baby shampoo.  That's what I use when I have pups and need to wash them. Its always worked for me.

Nautrogena body oil will kill the fleas on the pups and mother.

And a sheer moisturizing experience good for the skin and hair.

That young, only 1 week, I'd use Dawn plain dishsoap. That will kill any fleas on them.

x2...if it is safe enough to put on clothes and let dry and to use in the house then it is safe to use on the dogs...that is my rule of thumb... Wink

While you may have a point, I only always reccomend the Dawn to folks with VERY young (under 3-4wks old) pups because some folks may not know how much is too much when applying any chemicals on such small pups. We've has countless people over the years kill small pups that way. NOT saying that that means EVERYONE will over do it, I'm just speaking from my experience over the years. Once they hit at least 3 wks, I also have bought one tube of Advantage and split it between the entire litter. Also, alot of folks don't know, but baby oil works on repelling as well IF the area isn't severely infested. Gotta keep in mind, no matter how aggressive you treat the animals, if the enviornment isn't being treated as well, you'll be fighting an endless battle.
