I went out last night with my brother Myles to try and put our dogs on a hog. As soon as we turned loose I felt like it was gonna be a good hunt because the dogs hit the ground running. We walked for about 15 minutes and my dogs LT and Peppa were out about 300 yards when Peppa started barking. LT opened up right behind her and they ran about 40 yards inside some thick woods and were both bayed. Myles's dog Cedar heard the bay and ran right to them and joined in. We got close and cut Bo and Sally loose and were both suprised when we didnt hear any squealing. When we got inside the tree line we could see it was a good size hog. I got the hog flipped and Myles started pulling dogs and we got him hobbled. All the dogs did great and I was very proud of Peppa, my 7 month old Cat x Parker cross, since this is the second time shes found a good size boar in front of my more experienced dogs. We were so excited Myles went home and got his kids up so they could watch us drag it out still alive. They were very excited and should be flippin hogs with us for before long. It was a great hunt with my brother and I couldnt be more proud of our dogs. Peppa and Bo

Nice hog, it's gotta be exciting to have a young 'un showing that much promise so early! I hope she keeps it up for you.

This was a really quick hunt, plus he never made a noise until J flipped him on his side. Im very thankful to let my kids see him in the woods, alive and kicking. It was a great experience to have my 10 yr old duaghter and 6 yr old son learn the way of the woods. My 7 yr old son declined the the invite(he is a sleeper). So at midnight we took pics, butchered, and was home by 2:30am. Got to show he kids that food comes at a price, not just $ either.....T Will, ya missed this one, hopefully not the next bud, . We didnt mention 2 bays got hooked and one catch got hooked, we r thankfull they were simple wounds that will heal in a few days. PLUS, the boar had been cut a few times from a bigger boar...so he will be next on our list hopefully!
