Hunting lines you do/dont cross???

I am fairly new to running hogs. Ive only dun it for about 4 years now. I have learned that another mans dogs is his buisness. But when is enuff enuff? I for one have raised my own bulldogs and I kno breaking them.off a hog can be a pain sometimes. But watching a dog being beat off of a hog darn near everytime he catches doesnt sit well with me. Should something be said or is it jus a unwritten code to leave the matters of a man and his own dog to him.??

If he was hunting with me I would sure nuff say something if he was doing it every time  but thats just me and if he got mad he could hunt with somebody else then it would be none of my business.  I just dont like seeing a dog being abused and when it come to being stupid I will call it what it is .  I guess thats why some like me and some dont .

Im not the type to bite my tongue or tolerate bs bt I also.respect my elders anf feel like since most of the time im the "rookie" I shuld mind my own buisness. But I have made it very clear that if I cawt sumone stomping one of my bulldigs for doing his job. It wuld b a problem

With this particular group of guys im considered the "rookie" but I have let it be known anyone cawt stomping my dogs are gona have  a problem on their hands. Idk. I guess I dnt wana seem disrespectful  to the older guys. But seems they shuld kno better. I dont plan on hunting with them anymore

No bulldog should be beat on for doing his job that's what break sticks are for I don't want my bulldog letting go until I am ready to break him off with a stick when them bulldogs are at a caught hog n you go to beating on em all that does is make em bite harder IMO they love a good fight! Tell em They are waisting there time and that beating on there jug head ain't gonn do nothing but make his hand hurt n hand him a break stick n say try this!

I agree 100%  I personally rather have a bulldog that doesnt let oppose to one who will have you playing russian(hog) roulette.i guess I was jus trying to get sum advise on approaching other hunters and their techniques.

That would tick me off......why in God's name would anyone ever beat a dog for doing its job......a cd's entire job in life is to catch the hog.........sounds like the owner needs a whoopin, not the dog! Hell lol I wish my cd would catch and hold harder lol, not the other way around!

Buddy of mine and I took a young guy huntin, and while i was flippin the hog he decided to smack my gyp cause she was still bayin and nippin the hog.  I yelled at him to knock ot off, but i dont know if he had tunnel vision or somethin and kept doin it.  So i rectified the problem and told the gyp who was know growlin at him while he held her collar to catch.  She came unglued long enough for him to let go and got right back on the hog.  I knew she wouldnt catch him but put on a good show and scare the chit out of him.  After we got the hog tied he and i had a nice calm discussion about it.  Not sayin it was right but it worked when hollerin didnt.

I always just blow in my pits ear while tugging on her and this works everytime....took her dragging me and 2 buds along with a big sow down the creek bottom to learn this trick.

i just wanna put this out there for the young guys and hell old guys alike  . just because some fellers have a little grey in their hair doesn't meen they are dogmen or know what the hell they are doing  lol . when the hog population was manipulated out of control by us humans , every tom , dick and harry got em some dogs to hunt with . so just because some are older fellows with dogs , that holds no water with me .  now days there are just as many inexperianced  [old dog men ] as there are young hunters . i've said my piece and take it for what it's worth wich is plenty  lol

When you hunt with somebody, you are recognized as part of that group. I for one won't be associated with stuff like that. Anybody I've hunted with will tell u that. I'll tell em, if they don't like it, move on. When people ask why u don't hunt with em, tell the truth, real hunters will respect that. The ones that stick to there guns last the longest in the rural world

Im not sure if its consider beating but i did have to slap my pit across the nose real good to get gim to let go, but he knew when i did this it was time to let go never had to carry a breaking stick. Now some people may think that is beating him but i dont.

Good for you. If you have someone else to hunt with or  access to your own spots go for it. Just because someone is your elder doesn't
mean you have to tolerate their bull Chit. Respect is earned through your actions. You act like an a$$, you don't deserve respect.

Ive also hunted with this type of person when I first started , he was really rough with his dogs , they were scared off him , he loaded them in the back of the tralior with his atv because he had saddles in the top were he normally kept his dogs , the dogs which were several had crapped all over the atv by the time we arrived at the hunting spot , he was pissed , he climbed in the tralior and shut it back and put the boot to all his dogs , I thought he was killing them , I never said a word , I just walked away feeling sorry for his dogs and never hunted with him again , I regret  not saying what I thought about his actions but I dont really think it would of helped

I'm curious when you guys think its alright to put a boot to a dog? Example, two dogs are baying a small hog and one of the dogs is new to the pack. Send in 2 catchdogs and they jump on the new dog not the hog. What would you do in this circumstance? Boot worthy?

I raise bulldogs. And have broken up a fight or two. But if MY  dogs are sent to a bay. And pick another dog over a hog... Wellll he just mite catch the .22flu
