Where at in central Texas are you? I would like to see your type of hunting in action. I invited your buddy Josh years ago,but he never took me up on the offer.

BA-IV Thanks. Yeah it can be a mouth full when people start askin.
Snachers The Hairy Holders are made of muliple layers of seatbelt webbing, overlapped and stitched together to create more layers with less material with the goal of keeping the gear as light, flexable, protective and unobstuctive to the dogs range of motion. The extra stitching keeps it all in place nice and tight. Also should a tusk cut some stitching the whole thing wont start falling apart before you can get it repaired. In regards to your Texas gear statement. Gear made in this country is focused more on keeping the dog covered up and less on range of motion. But thats just my personal observation.
Thanks 7376

Id be real interested to see how that dog turns out. Just remember to be patient. Anything with hairy blood in it can be slow to mature. Considering whats in her itd be a real surprise to find out she was a cull. That hard core vest is made by Hard Core Hog Dogs. Its inexpensive and seemed like a better solution for puppy training than building a custom vest. That one is beefed up a little and had a girth strap added to hold it down a bit.

Thank God theyre not all in my yard !! Im dog poor enough.lol
Cantex
Im located in the Georgetown area. Id be game to make some runns with ya. But i have to tell ya if your used to high power strike dogs you may be a bit bored. All mine are short to medium range at best but theyre expected to stop (runners) catch anything they find, and swing till I get there. Just not quite there with my breeding yet.

Yeah idk she is the only one left from her litter from being totally in controllable to just flat dumb. She is a experiment for me. She is catchy as can be right now and has been hard since she was a pup. I have been messing with her and think she may make a dog just don't know what size she will finish at she is about 55 maybe 60 pounds and really impressing me I didn't let her in the pen but she was tring her durnedst to catch through the fence. Ready to put her on a good hog and see but like you said got to be patient

Great lookin dogs. I got a hairy stag just like mcgregor that's all catch and need to find the right vest for him... So would u suggest the pigga frigga? As you said I just don't want something that will restrict his range of motion and slow him down

The PiggaFrigga is a very high quality piece of cut gear but from my own observations and those of hunting partners its not the best choice for a narrow leggy dog. Those plates are designed for a thicker bull arab type dog. The issue that bothers me about them on a narrow leggy dog is that nothings holding those flaps down. They provide excellent range of motion and protection to neck and jaw but not so much on the chest and shoulders of a narrow dog. On something with a wide chest it changes the way the whole thing behaves because the thicker dog fills it in and doesnt let it move nearly as much. The hairy Holder design doesnt have those issues and is built with the same level of quality. American Made Aussie inspired

Well its like most would suspect, not so great in the super thick stuff as a shorter dog. But in moderate typical thick stuff, briars, cedar thickets and brush it really depends on the dog. That dane x boxer female never had a problem moving thru anything. Wasnt much that would slow her down. Just very athletic. That Dane x ridgeback had alot of issues with briars. Not an agile dog at all but shined on an open/semi open chase. The stag moves pretty fluid thru the woods but does some times have issue with barriers. I.e Brushpiles and fences. My dane x deerhound x wolfhound is extremely athletic and just goes under, over, or thru not sure if she'll jump a fence on the run

Thanks for all the comments yall. My buddy took the dane/hairy crosses out last night and pulled up four. two boars, two sows. The dogs in the top pic are litter mates to my female Kya. Theyre about 14mos now. I have a mearl female available from the same litter if anyones intersted. Shes the runt and would be better used in a pack or breeding than as an allrounder.
