bacj in the 90s one of the hines breeders was very impress with an early alapha stock from lana's original bulldogs. Was a greatbulldog in every sense of the word and greatest thing is it actually did bulldog work.  I saw one in action and it was very impress.  Just like ABs they come in two basic styles.  Standard working type and bully type.

Not to much people catching with them but my fellow texan in corpus is getting it done down here in south texas.  Im impreess his alapha is doing this work and i would not hesitate to use his catchdog one day for example to my southern white bulldog for a nice working cross..

This is a pit correct? I get mixed up since the term bulldog is used so much. I think bulldog I think American bulldog. Not bulldog catch dog

I have used catch dogs for the last 9 years pits pitx and ab's and i would not hesitate to get another by far the best catch dog I have ever owned all he wants to do is catch hogs he chewed thru the top of my box just to put teeth on a dead hog that was up there. I own 4 ab and my alapaha has by far the best endurance over them all he pulled the lead out of my hand two years ago and got away from me and caught a 90lbs lil boar 920 yrds from where I lost him so. Thanks Americanlegendz for the kind words  ill be waiting for your call if you still want to make that cross

http://www.alapahabluebloodbulldogs.org/history-gallery.php

I guess I'll post it up.  This is a piece on their history.  Just as controversial as the AB (IMO).  Like most bull breeds alot of people talking smack about each other and not being able to work together for the better of the breed.  oh well such is life. lol

Good luck Drew.  I'd be interested to hear about your outcome and use of this type of bulldog.

Here's the other side of that coin and the history.

"Thanks Americanlegendz for the kind words  ill be waiting for your call if you still want to make that cross"

Hey your doing right by the breed bro.  When the right female comes in I'll definitly give you a buzz.  Post a pic or video of your alapaha if you get a chance especially in a thread started for alapaha's.  Folks need to see the real deal tiny to appreciate what a nice alapaha can do in the woods in the right hands.  Well put together dog when I saw him in person.

Hard to find one that is working or doing any type of hog hunting.  Couple people in Texas who have them but carry the bully type and want something like 4000 grand and up.  Crazy !!!!!  The fella I knew in the valley from years ago got out of them but had some really nice impressive stock.  I've been trying myself to hunt down some of his old stock around the valley.  I know he placed seveal dogs out there even as early as 2004.  If I find anything or hear of anyone I'll let you know.
