finally dumped my dogs after a rain. No pig sign still but dogs had fun cleaning out the armadillo's I saw four. they were everywhere. I think they got more though.  I have two dogs that I cant stop they just can't be broke off em. It don't bother me anymore...... to much it don't take long and its kinda fun to watch they rip em in half and leave em lay.Just felt like sharing.

Must be in the air.

We made a dry run last night with some young dogs.
No dillers but these trashy lil Yellers ran em down a coyote and caught him. Couldn't get my hobbles on him so we squeezed a 22 mag on him.  Lol

Now three dogs are quarantined in my kennel for a week till I make sure we ain't gonna turn into an episode of old Yeller.

plp, thats no joke that yellow dog loves killings them more than any dog i've ever seen. She has never trashed on anything else she just loves to crunch em.Course it don't take much encouragement for him to grab hold of one either.

My yella dog used to bark on a dillo, but he did it while he had the thing in his mouth.. Kinda funny actually, but after like the third time i hit him with the dillo he quit barking with his mouth full..  Now he just crunches them and moves on...

Lol could not agree with you more. Better than running deer in my mind I know some folks dogs that run deer all the time a good dillo cant hurt every now and then.  Grin

Man I was scared for a minute that I was the only one who had dillo dogs Grin when hog times are hard I take my house dog ( jagd) to the woods with my two sons and just let her trash like crazy. We take a 22 rifle and just let her pick the game of the day. We walk behind her and whatever she gets after we will help with. Nutria is my favorite. It's always a hell of a fight. Once we broke her off livestock it was game on.

I know this probably goes for a lot of other guys on this forum including myself.  If I was to take a ranch or land owner hunting, friends, or invited to hunt with someone new, and my dogs trashed on every armadillo, skunk, deer, etc.  I most likely wouldn't be invited back to hunt again and producing pork when you take a rancher/owner the first time out gets you free reign on that place most of the time.  Hell my own family and good friends wouldn't invite me to hunt if my dogs trashed.  Just my thoughts on it, not trying to start an argument or bash anyone's doings but a dog that trashes and you can't break them of it most likely gets culled around here unless that dog finds so many pigs I just couldn't afford to get rid of him

I agree 100 percent with that KO catchdogs , and I go out with the intent to chase hogs and train our animals not to go after any other game , but have treed a coon or 2 , caught a badger ect. , but also have caught close to 500 hogs with the same dogs , top notch in the day and trash a little at night , were your dogs just born not to trash or maybe you stumbled over a little on your journey to train your dogs  not to start a arguement but come on man your dogs had to learn to get were there at , and Im not talking about letting your dog trash on every animal like I said , A true hunting hog dog , I think I would like to take you hunting on a day hunt LOL

I'm not saying that my dogs have never trashed by any means! Lol hell they still may trash and I just don't know it... When they are out 500 yrds who knows what they are doing when I can't see them but they dang sure won't bark at anything but a pig and dang sure won't trash when i can see them.... Any dog with a high prey drive like the majority of really good dogs have, are trash broke at one time or another.  But there is a time and place to do it I think, when they are young and fresh in the woods I'll run tri-tronics untill I don't think it's needed anymore.  I wasn't tryin to imply that my dogs have never trashed by any means lol but I'm not gonna hunt a really trashy young dog with anyone else around minus a few select people that know and don't mind me bringing a young dog
