Y is he breeding for colors??? That makes no sense........he is breedin for the wrong reason, just my honest opinion, not tryin to be an ass but dogs should be bred for working ability not color.......i honestly think this part of the reason that the catahoula line has been watered down.

Check out LH Ladner website on them blue bmc. They claim they have a line of em.

Didn't read anything about the combo to get em. Figure its just a recessed gene surfacing like a soviet submarine on that line of ybmc.

Ha ha it's as easy as mixing paint and making your own colors.

I don't think one breeding invents a new breed of dogs.  Most of the time it's a cull producer.

If you cross a Lacy and a Black Mouth you will get a cross bred and thats all it will ever be. Blue is a dilute of black and I have seen blue pups out of a family of Black mouths when a B&T from that family was bred to a yellow dog from that same family. Blue has allways shown up in cur dogs, the Lacy's dang sure didn't invent it.

No ur likely to get a yellow because the blue is a recessive gene and the lacys have the yellow color in them already so this is what ur likely to get.

I went hunting with some kids around huntsville and we went to Colby Lovells place to pick up a catch dog and he had about 20 kennels. In 15 of them there where blue dogs with black masks that looked like a bmc clone but was blue. And i dont mean like steel blue or gray. like blue blue. The kids swear by it that they are blackmouth curs. But Colby was on the road so i didnt get a chance to ask him.

BINGO........

As Big O pointed out the "blue" color  Is actually a black dog with a modifying gene that dulites the Black color to Blue.  That "Blue" color is present in quite a few cur dogs out there.  Not Just Lacys.  In my opinion is a sure sign of inbreeding, but thats just me.

I have a blue dog out of my ( yellow ) Daisy gyp and my old Ug dog ( dark brindle ). He is as blue as any blue pit and he has brindle socks to his knees and a brindle mask. There were two blues in that litter . I'll take a pic and post it.

the mtn cur produces lots of blues...I bred a red female to a yellow male and I got a few blue brindles and one blue and tan...the blue or grey color tend to have a higher percentage of coat and/or skin problems
