looking for some ideas on kennels that are off of the dirt, easier to keep clean and not get all muddy everytime it rains. maybe also the pros and cons that may come with past experiences on these type of kennels

I've got on with a plywood floor sitting on 4X4's I can move it if I ever get the notion to it's easy to clean. Only downfall I learned here recently is it's probably not sanitized as well as concrete after you clean it with bleach or whatever if your dogs got sick.

I've been thinking about building some kennels and here's what i'm envisioning... rather than putting in a floor, i was thinking i would make the entire frame outta 2" pipe and attach sum wheels to the outside that could be raised & lowered and then pull or push the entire kennel on fresh ground/grass when needed. i have 5 acres here at the house so i could move it around and always be able to find fresh grass... i'm thinking horse panel for the walls and a good metal roof. as of right now, none of my dogs try and dig out of the kennels so i think it'll work... for easy moving i plan on hanging the feeders on the walls, for water i plan on mounting a 55 gallon drum and run PVC pipe off the drum to each kennel and mount those "dog faucets" in each kennel. im thikning 6 kennels and for each to be 10' X 20'

i wonder how long the wood floors would hold up to being washed out on a regular basis? does bleach water dry out the wood? dog urine? sometimes i tend to over think projects but i dont want to have to rebuild something every couple yrs. i do like how the poles keep the pens off of the ground hadnt thought bout usin something like that.

I built mine with pressure treated ply wood floors. Mine been up for two plus years, washed out every evening, florida summer rain and humididty (not to mention a few tropical storms) and i have had no problems. The only down side i have is the bards tend to bow under my weight. I wish i would put in a plank floor but if these ever rot i can always switch to it.
