Purebreed and his wife came up for a hunt at his dad's, called me and we talked a bit, so i set up a hunt on a ranch at Doss. Hunted 3 sections without a bark, no interest or even any sign of hogs, all the feeders were empty and we were about to the end of the line when my Redman dog started something. I could tell his bark wasnt right and it sounded like he was barking treed, the other dogs didnt really want to honor him and Rusty, Purebreed's dog wouldnt at all.

This dog has not trashed since he was a year old and is now 4, he has never barked treed, so I felt like it was prob something I would at least want to kill if he was barking at it. One dog Jr did honor him finally and started in with him, about the time we started to go to them we heard a sound like you droped a bag of corn out of the oak tree he was under and a load sshhhhh kind of sound, hard to make that sound here in type but I know it made the hair on the back of my neck stand up even though i was expecting it.

3-5 mins after the jump I couldnt get the 2 dogs on my track system and had to guess at a direction, of course I picked the wrong one. Long story short we picked the 2 dogs up 2 miles from were the jump happened about 2 hrs after the jump. I believe they had treed again but, we had gone the wrong direction.

Purebreed had heard of a lion on game cam a couple miles up the road and the land owner the next morning told me every year they see one his place at least once a year. I am sure that is what we ran. Purebreed ya'll come back anytime was nice seeing yall again.

At least if he was going to trash I am glad it was on something that would be hard to call trash.

My buddy has a ranch right outside of Doss and has seen a cat running around his place not too long ago. Who knows might of been him. Took my dogs down there about a month ago and caught a few pigs. Like that country.
