I'm over here in Gods country right now, thats right, South Louisiana!!!! Geaux Tigers!!!!! And due to a picture posted on Facebook by a sweet older lady whom I now have a food crush on, AND a recent conversation with that lo down dirty good for nothin, making me miss my MaMaws cooking, HWilson! I now find myself facing the horrible, wouldn't wish it on satan on a Sunday feeling that we fat southern boys refer to as "A Hankerin"

I am jones'n real hard for WHOLE fried Perch, HOT WATER CORNBREAD, and a flipping bucket of purple hull peas!!!!!!!! Unfortunately for this chubby buddy, I was more attracted to a pretty face and "lots of lung room" Wink than the old retired widow type that I shoulda bedded down with! Kidding kidding sort of. Anyway, my wife can't satisfy my need for southern fried wholesome goodness and my maMaw is livin in Tennesee now that Pawpaw has passed on, so I desperatly need your help!! I need you to eet delicious southern food and post pictures of it like food porn! If your really a good hearted person, I'll be home the rest of the week and you can have your mom or grandma bake me some buttermilk biscuits and pour on some ribbon cane syrup!!

Or just post your favorite meal tour grandma made ya!

Thanks alot Hunter! I'm gonna frog you in the shoulder next time I see you for reminding me how good our pawpaws had it!!!!!

Dang. Too bad I didn't see this 30 min ago.  I just got done eatin some pork chops, home made Mac n cheese, and some black eyed peas.  I would've taken a pic.

I know I miss my great grandmothers cookin when I would visit in Alabama. All the veggies were straight from the garden or a jar in the cellar, and everything was fried from the coffee can full of bacon drippings sitting by the stove. If you so much as mentioned you liked something, she'd be cooking it 20 minutes later. Now that I've eatin, I've really got a " hankerin" for some of her divinity, or maybe some boiled peanuts!!

Speaking of red beans and rice just ate a bowl earlier hunter, know how us Hemphill corn fed boys eat! red beans slow cooked in grandmas secret recipe.. With a pot of hot steamed white rice and of course some browned deer meat in with the beans after they first start to get soft... Can't forget the aroma of that cast iron homeade cornbread!!! Peaches were hand peeled boiled soaked and magically made homeade peach sweet tea!!! I was down for the count after two plates!
