Not trying to pick on anyone but seems like several people I have hunted with act like they are afraid of a pig 100 and under.  These guys catch their fair share.  Anyone else here afraid of pigs?

Use to be, didn't have them up north, all I could see was images from old yeller before I came to Texas, but I got my dogs and I trust em.  If they got a hold I am the first dumd ass to fall down the creek bank in a hurry to jump on any hog I see.

Happens ALOT.

Usually only two situations make my butthole pucker, a truly big boarhog with no bulldog on him, and a hog in the water. (I have had some close calls with my feet slippin or getting stuck and having the hog spin on me and getting on the business end. One time I had no choice but to grab ears and push it's head down, thank god it was a sow wit no teeth) ( I realize that taken out of content, that last sentence sounded kinda gay. Y'all know what I meant though) (honor system folks, c'mon)

I respect them but and know what they are capable of but I cant say im scared of em.

The "pucker factor" does go up at times in certain situations but hell thats parta the fun lol

And yeah bro, lots Of folks are scared of lil hogs, but if you look at their pics of the 100 pound hogs, they'll swear they were 200 pounders! And all their legit 200 pound hogs are 500 pounds and make chin high rubs.  Wink

Think about this though, a squirrel only weighs about a pound but I will never catch one by hand again!!!!

I never was afraid until a few close calls...now I am very careful...one thing that gets me is going in after a big boar on a muddy/soggy bank and I am getting stuck in the mud with my snake boots on...just a bad feeling when it is rough cur dogs and no real catch dog on the hog...

Any pig small enough for me to shove their head in the dirt I ain't even worried about. I watch guys in a pen hiding behind a board with a 50 lb pig. Now I guess they can still get you but I ain't getting behind a board until they get to almost 150lb or big enough that when I put my boot between their eye and and stand up on their head they throw me in the air. Then I still ain't scared but the playing slows down.

Now in the mud and stuff it is just respet.

Hes talkn about people like me! Lol a lil shoat tied down in the floorboard of his truck and my feet on the dash. Dunno wat it is but i just dont like them. But in the woods or in a pen or somethin i trust my dogs. Wont hesitate to grab one. Ive had to grab an ear before and i ended up getting cut. Ive been cut three to many times. Used to not be scared at all just barrel in and get ahold of somethin. But the more i go the more cautious i get. Idk if im scared or not but i just dont like em. But will defenatley catch one there is nothin like it
