Sorry Dexter, but that is how long her neck realy is,HAHA... and that is part of the problem....She has caught about 35 hogs for me and she has 2 scratches in her devestator vest and 6 scars from punctures to her neck and under her jaw. She needs about a 7 inch cut collar. At 105 lbs she does not get tossed around by a hog, she just needs coverage for that long neck and chest.

Krystal, I will keep ya'll updated on how it works for me. Jasper is doing great, he is a little slower now and doesn't seem to mind being Adora's back up.

I believe this is a great product, for me and the type of hunting I do.....but when I am leading in catch dogs in the heavy brush, I will still strap up my dogs in their Devestators for maximum protection.

well, i had a long conversation with Josh (L3) at the baying in Bremond and really looked over his breast plates.  it's a nice product.  i was a bit skeptical when i first saw the pics but in person and on a few dogs it's totally different.  i actually saw the 2 dogs in the baying yesterday and their flexibility and mobility weren't compromised at all.  i also got to look at one of the prototypes he had that had been used in the field for a while and it was more "broke in" and flexible compared to the ones on the bay dogs.  i think after it's had a little woods time it's only gonna get better.  i did also talk to him about the void there low in the chest that a catch dog i had got cut pretty bad at.  and he's able to add another flap or shoulder flap as the customer sees fit as he makes these custom for each dog.

i have to say i was pretty impressed and it seems like an awesome product for the summer time heat.

it was good talking to you Josh i enjoyed it.... congrats on a nice product.

There are two places a dog gets hit and will usually kcick the bucket before you get them to a vet. A heart shot and a shot to the jugular (Huh?) vein.  The only problem i see with the vest is there is no coverage of the heart from a upswep shot. If the dog is tall he will be hit under the coverage of the vest. If he is short hes already off the ground and gets under the vest. We have had 2 dogs killed from heart shots last year. Just my 2 cents

after only one hunt and one bay contest the bay vests have paid for themselves in vet bills. These are being run on some gritty curs.

Gus has only taken shots to the collar but will continue to use it on him.

Cali has been center punched in the chest and some cuts in the rib area. I dont want to think about what would have happened if she wasnt wearing it. She did take some cuts on the inside of each elbow.

maybe i should reword it these arent vests they are breast plates. if you want to have the most protection i would say go to one of those vest. It would make much sense for me to run one on a strike dog. they let the dog move alot better and they wont cook. kinda apples to oranges comparisions.
