New Breast Plate/ vest

I just got my new Breast Plate/ Vest from L3 Outdoors. I am very impressed. Adore can really run in this one and the protection looks great. I have been lookig for something like this for quite a while. Here are some pics for those of you that may be interested in this type of protection for your dogs.

Poor dog that does'nt even look like it would comfortable it also looks like you would be doctorine raw spots for weeks after running a dog in that vest.

How far can she put her head down in it?

I don't know where you think the dog will get sore spots since it has no leg holes. here are mine I got mine made lighter with a shorter collar and no jaw flap. I like the idea of a well ventilated vest for a cur. UGLYDOG  the dog should be able to put her head all the way down. the only thing attaching the vest and the collar is the seat belt webbing in the front.

i like that brest plate .  i would have to go with the jaw flap too ,had 3 bulldogs killed by a nasty cut in the throat in the last year

i think he makes them out of 2 layers of seat belt webbing and 2 layers of cordura

Yes Krystal head can go all the way down. This vest is right out of the box and needs some break in time to soften up. She can move and run better in this vest in this vest than anything else I have used, and its not even broken in yet.

the last couple of times I have seen dogs cut it was on the underneath side of their two frount legs and then both cut on the outside of the legs.  There is not much material there.  I know it gives more movement range but then again I think you are leaving a large hole open for the hog to get a tusk in.  On larger longer leged dogs it will probally work great because their necks are long enough to keep their legs out of the way of the teeth but on smaller to medium dogs which is what most pits are I do not see it working well.  On L3's dane and dane cross this will probally be the only thing you would need.

I guess thats why there are so many vests and so many people making them. that way there is something to suit all hunters. Personally I like the concept, and i have talked to josh about ordering one for my AB

i think with a pit most times its front legs are off the ground when caught on a bigger boar so it is like you said may not be the best choice for those certain dogs.

guys I have hunted my dog Logan in the new breast plates and the dogs can move very well and I don't think there is a problem at all with the leg holes as a mater of fact on the last hunt Logan was hit low several times in the plat and no cuts had he been wearing his old gear comparing the to I think he would have been cut the new plates are a awesome product and I will stand behind them all the way the video of Logan is on this site in the videos

Like the idea, but the area above between the front legs low in the chest is an EXTREMELY VITAL area and is not protected at all with that 1" strap.  A good hit there and it's all over.

The idea here, for me, is not maximum coverage, Its maximum mobility. I have tried many differant styles od vest on my Dogo and have not found the balance of coverage and mobility I have been looking for untill now. If you close up the bottom of that vest it will restrict movement in the dog. If you cover up all the places a dog can get hit he will not be able to move well, and will get hit more. Holding style is what keeps a dog from getting hurt.

The pic above that Cody has shown is a gritty bay dog and does not need as much coverage as a catch dog does.

I have used and still use my vests from UglyDog, they are extreamly good products. I have just been looking for a Breast Plate of this type that will alow maxium mobility while protecting the neck and chest.
