Finally got out this morning after a wk of solid rain.  We knew it was gonna be too wet to drive around at all, so I decided to run the short range team.    Dropped Snappa and Silver out around 7:30 and just walked the edge of the swamp until they pulled out... only to realize I'd left my tracking unit back at the house.... an hour away Embarrassed

Well, these two are usually real good about "get it done or come back", so we waited and listened....and listened....nothing for 30min.  So, I start calling, and another half hour goes by.... nothing.

Called a local who brought out a tracker that had just enough juice left in it to tell me the dogs were a half mile deep in a swamp and not moving.... we made a straight line to where they were when he beeped them and nothing.

Called tracker #2.  By this time it's been almost 4 hrs since we turned out.  He beeps them in the same spot the other guy did.... not moving.  Convinced my dogs were done by this point, I took the unit and made my way toward them.  About 200#'s out all of a sudden they pulled out and headed west fast.  Greatly relieved, we take chase, with AJ in hand.  1/2 mile later, we hear ol Snapp's baying and then see this hog step out with her and Silver tying into it.  Turned AJ to 'em and caught hog.

Ended up swimming a few creeks and ditches to get to them, not to mention all the moccasins we sidestepped, but we got the hog and I was real proud the dogs hung in there until I could get my "stuff" together.  From the way she looked, looks like they had her caught for a while.... Put the white ballcap on to keep the sun out the hog's eyes Wink Grin

Silver, Snappa, and yours truly

I'll put a couple more pics up in a bit.... got CutterBayKennel's baby shower to get to.... yay Wink Grin
