That's a helluva road rash!

Glad you're okay though. I've known/seen alot of folks over the years hurt pretty bad and even killed in crotch rocket related accidents.

I don't believe you can live if you are afraid to die. Now if motorcycles are just not your thing that is ok but I would not give up something you love.

Many years ago i saw first hand how important leather is. I would bet that you did not have a leather jacket on. I do not have a bike now but when I do it is a full face helmet, leather jacket or something that can slide with some padding, gloves, long pants, and boots. That also goes for dirt bikes. On the street always go a little faster than traffic so you don't count on cars seeing you. I know in my truck a car can disappear in my blind spots. A motorcycle is harder to see so always be aware of blind spots and stay out of them. Pay attention to cracks and gravel.

Glad your ok.   Could have put some ink on it!    Lol    I had a dirt bike from some trading when I was 15 took a good spill on a gravel road, and decided I didn't have enough any sense when I rode it!   Sold it and now I'm still alive to tell the story!

I crashed my harley two years ago.  Dont remember what caused the wreck, when i came too there were a bunch of people standing over me on the side of the road watching me bleed to death.  I walked away with a broken wrist, fractured pelvis, bruised lungs couple fractured ribs, and a temporal artery severed (which is why i was bleeding so bad).  I spent six months doing physical therapy just to get my trigger finger to work, and be able to bend my right wrist.  As soon as i could do it, i got right back on a bike and went for a nice LONG ride through the country.  Not because i wanted to, but because it was the only way i thought i could get the nightmares of going over the handle bars to go away and it worked.  Like my dad always told me as a kid, if you get bucked off and dont get back on youll be scared of it forever!
