....for what I call hoghunting blues? When ever we have a hunt planned for an upcoming weekend the week seems to drag by. I keep telling myself, " c'mon weekend!". Finally thursday gets here and I can barely contain myself. All I can think about is turning the dogs loose..... and then something will happen to cause the hunt to be cancelled! I cant stand it! First I get mad, then I can feel a pain deep in my chest, an actual physical pain. I pace, I cant sleep. Its horrible! I wonder if im having a panic attack or something! Then I start thinking that its going to be another long week before I have a chance to go again. I spend the whole week mourning the hunt that was cancelled. Logging on to ETHD helps a little but its not a cure.

what in the world could cancel a hunt hell i've quit damn good jobs that got in the way of my huntin . Im with you! I would could hunt every day of the year. There isn't much that would cause me to cancel a hunt. But since I hunt with my husband, his dang job gets in my way at times. I guess since he has a good job that he likes, I don't want him to quit it just to hunt. But dang it almost kills me when we cancel. And he wont let me load the dogs and go to the woods by myself because he knows that I will not hesitate to jump on a big boar without any backup. He says Im crazy.

when I started out I was about the same way...couldn't sleep the night before if it was a day hunt...starting to be more like work in my older age but I still like it...especially if it is cool weather and the dogs are feeling it...

Dang that is bad. Hope that you are up and hunting again soon. Eight weeks would be a killer. But when you do get to go again its going to feel like a trip to disney land!

I've felt the same way about a few things in life but sum people never get to feel that passionate about anything. It's kinda funny, but I'm not making fun of you, but all those symptoms is a sign of anxiety. When every thing goes according to plan, and you do get to go you must be one happy gal.

I too suffer from that torment Dinah,.....I only have 2 places to hunt hogs near where I live,.....one is dependent on one of my buddies, I have to go with him since he has permission. The other is a hunting club I belong to that has hogs on it some of the time, but not ALL the time. They are really nomadic around there and I can't count on them to be around if I go to hunt them. I have trail cams out on my oil rub and get sporadic visits by 3 or 4 big boar hogs, but nothing regular. At times there's a bunch of sows and pigs there but it's been quite awhile since they paid me a visit. SO,......I have to travel about 2 to 4 hours to get into hogs regularly. Thus, I don't get to hunt a lot until after deer season ends in GA......mid Jan. We wear 'em out until mid March, but that's just not enough for me!!!!! Sometimes I don't get to go for months.....and I hate it for my dogs, but it won't kill either you or the dogs even though you may think it will.
You are SO lucky to have hogs to hunt near you, I'd really be a happy man if I could do that,.....maybe someday, but it's gonna be awhile I'm afraid. I know exactly how you feel about a hunt getting canceled......makes me mad, aggravated and I hate it. But don't forget how lucky you have it young lady......I envy y'all so much and hope to get to meet ya'll and hunt with you someday soon.
