I thought Mike had banned the word dogo a year ago.
I agree with those of y'all who say a dogo is in the hound group. They must be, cuz they sure As heck ain't comparable to no real bulldog.

I love Dogos.....But they are not meant to be a lead in dog. And, how catchy they are has a lot to do with how they are introduced to hogs, just like every other breed. If you let a hog smash em as a pup, theyll probly stay back and bay better. If you let em hammer weak hogs as they grow up, theyll probly be rougher. Just my experience. my two best strike dogs ar half dogos, and they stay back and bay good. Hunted with a guy that lead one in the other day, and it didnt lock on half as hard as a bull. It's not what theyre for. If you want them for catch dogs, use three at a time

The purpose of the Dogo was to create a running bulldog with stamina. I have personally never owned one but I have seen them and I can say they have wind and they are intelligent. Pound for pound, I do not think they are as strong as a pit or an American Bulldog. They can probably take the heat better than some strains of American Bulldog, especially bulldogs heavy in Johnson blood. Can they catch better than a pit, catahoula bull, American Bull, or mix of these? I would have to see more in action to answer that intelligently. There simply are not enough of them in the USA to be able to evaluate them. If you have one and like it, good hunting to ya.
