How soon sould I wait to start a puppy on training to be a catchdog Ive been told to make sure the dogs teeth are set how long does that take?

There is a little search button at top of the page click on it and type your question in. Then uncheck the check box and only check the hog dogs and general discussion tabs. Lots of good threads on starting bulldogs.

If I was starting a Cd I would wait atleast till 7 or 8 months before starting him and maby till 11 months before hunting him pretty regular. But while hes growing show him a hog in a pen every now and then but for short spurts so hes ready and all excited about it. But the most important thing I would think is make sure you have a good handle on him. I'm not forsire about the trash breaking age..

I usually show them a shoat around 5-6 months old. I do it regularly and when they want to catch, I let them. Then I'll put them up till somewhere between 10-12 months old, let them catch something that'll check their oil and then I start hauling them to the woods as a second catchdog.
