Make sure you get some crawfish, crabs and shrimp! Cajun style! I'd go check out the city too.....just try not to 'look' like a tourist, lol

You planning on making a round farther south? I am sure they have some decent food up that way, but it's gonna be better the further south you go. South central, and Southwest have a little different flavor than the southeastern side of the state. It's all good, just a little different. I prefer the SW, SC food, but that's where I landed when I came from TX. You will enjoy it for sure. Crawfish will be in full swing in March.

Get with me when it gets alil closer.  We don't know each other but heck aint nothing like meeting people off the board.  I've got a Cajun place the ol lady and I really like, it's alil bit of a drive but well worth it for the live music and good food. It's hard to explain cuz it's in the middle of a rice field  Grin

If you go to Baton Rouge or Gonzales area (Asscension Parish) go eat at a place called Mike Anderson's or Snows seafood. Those 2 places ruined my seafood resturants here in the houston area.

Uncle Earls is in Winnfield; make the two hour drive south on I-49 and eat at Prejeans.  Best food I have ever had.  Visit Natchitoches; small town with a lot of scenery and good places to eat.  If you have time, visit New Orleans; it is a different world and a lot of fun to visit.  Some good casinos and a nice boardwalk in Shreveport.

We stayed in Natchitoches 2 years ago and ate at a pretty good place just across the river from the shopping area.  Little shack you ordered in and then u went into like a barn with long pick nick tables.  It was really good.  Don't remember how many pounds of crawdads we had.  Would love to go back to Natchitoches and look around in the day light.  Never been to a casino may have to hit one of them too.  Keep the ideas coming my vacation is getting longer with the more stuff I want to do lol.
