I think he got approved to make legal shine. And they just set it up to look like he's still a real outlaw out in the woods for the show.

Any of you ever drank apple pie moonshine? My brother brings home quart jars of moonshine from Georgia. He has a recipe where he boils
apple cider, sugar, apple juice and cinnamon sticks. The one quart of 190 proof moonshine will make 9 quarts of the apple pie moonshine.
This chit is so  smooth and tasty it aint funny. It taste exactly like apple pie. not like apple juice or apple cider or apple wine. It tastes
exactly like apple pie. It's still moonshine though. It will sneek up on you if you aint careful.

I've made the apple pie shine like that a time or 2 when I didn't have good shine (ever clear will even work for that).  When you get ahold of some good stuff and don't want to mess it up with all that just add a half of an apple and a cinnamon stick to the jar and let it sit for a few weeks.  Or any fruit for that matter.  Apricot and peaches are really good.  This has been a few years ago when I lived in West Virginia.  I wish I knew where to find some around here.

If I could whole it for $40 a gallon like they say on that show there'd be a career change in my  future!

Best drink I've had was the peach brandy from New Caney. Looks like shine and just as stout. Great stuff. Wish I knew how to make it. Or maybe it's best I don't.

I tried moonshine once and it tasted like crap. I reckon I should try it again with a fruity flavor!
