Had a hunt that we donated to a charity auction. A couple city slickers bid on it and won. They brought a few friends. All we had to do was bay catch any size hog and let them stick it. Floyd struck a bad sob and it was his last one to strike for me. Turned the bull dog loose at 40 yards, heard her hit and heard floyd scream. Hurried in, Floyd walked out to me about ten yard from the hog, I patted him on the head one time and he was done. I could barely keep it together for the hunters when I legged the hog and told them to stick it. We got the job done, I took the hunters back to their truck, went home and buried my dog. What was supposed to be a good thing turned out pretty crappy for me.

Little Floyd was three years old and about 35 pounds of pure fun. I got him from Paul Teegardin almost two years ago and he has been a valuable asset to my team. It didn't matter what kind of mood I was in, Floyd always put a smile on my face. If i walked out to him weather to go hunt or feed or just to pet on him, he would be jumping high enough to look me in the eyes, didn't matter if he was on the chain or in the kennel, the little sucker could jump. He struck a lot of hogs for me over the past year and a half and boy could his bark shake the dang trees. I walked into the catch many times to see him riding the nose of a big boar caught on an ear, all four legs off the ground, and come out without a scratch, he just didn't make it on top of the nose this time. He was a favorite of everyones around the house with all that personality and he lived to be in the woods. I don't keep very many dogs on my yard and the ones that are there are good at what they do and I get very attached to them. Its been a rough 12 months on my yard and loosing Floyd has hit me pretty hard. He is really gonna be missed.

RIP Floyd

Rest in peace my Pretty Boy Floyd. One of the best pure hog dogs that I have produced, but his personality is what set him apart. Taylor you did a great job with him, so sorry he is gone.
