Went out last night to feed pigs took the gf's gyp for the ride. When we got there, there were a couple pigs outside the pen so i turned her gyp out. Everything worked out but her gyp is turning into a straight cd so the gf wants to get her a vest. Ive pretty much decided on either p and p or ugly dog. Question is how the heck would i even begin to tell mr parish what i want in a custom vest or what vest do yall like from ugly dog and why?

Is she a fl cur or a bulldog. If a bulldog either way. If she is a running dog I would go with either hardcore show n go or a ausie style plate. On bulldogs my ugly dog does good and does ok on my ridgeback when he is running but still rubs a little my hardcore does not rub much at all and my showngos don't rub much. I didn't like the p and p on my long necked dogs which is why I sold it it was fine on a bulldog and quality is sure good just not my style of vest. This is jmo and what is working for me.

Shes a short legged cur dog, build alot like a bulldog except shes not as thick. She was a rough dog but lately has decided to be straight catch so im wanting a running vest. The only issue with just a bib is she catches ugly. Grab an ear and stand in front of the hog, so shes gonna need a vest. And im gonna need a couch when she doesnt cone home from a nasty boar!

Can not swim as well. Kinda like a wet suit vs plain every day clothes. If they are going to be in water you want something that will not hold water and drown the dog. Boar collector is the guy that told me that his held water. Know my dogs can swim like a fish in the ugly dog I have also same with my hardcore and my showngo is not bad. We don't get in water too much around here but some and if kid7 posts up I'm going to say it now I hate getting wet. Lol

My p&P vests for my catch dogs are heavy when they get wet , I amost lost my catch dog on a hunt when the hog broke and ran into a lake , but they are well made.

Joey Williams with show n go makes some awesome vest he makes them himself and is a great guy and can do custom work I run really rough curs and that's what I have and love them no rub issue and we hunt a lot of marsh so the vest stay pretty wet. Hid number is 662-542-0490 give him a call ad talk with him. He is a fellow hog hunter so he knows what it takes to protect our dogs.

I run P&P vests on all my dogs that need a vest and have never had a problem with water. Just call Larry and tell him what kind vest you want her to have and he will make it. He might even suggest something you didnt think of. He's made a lot of vests so he knews what works.

The only thing I don't like about hardcore is he gets his vests made by showngo and does not do them his self. I personally like buying direct from the person that nmakes the vest. This is my problem with several vests the so called makes or nothing more than a middle man.
